This guy isn't half as good as he is made out to be...most of his jump shots are too strong and his post-up game isn't THAT good...

i think he's playing with bad ankles this year.

there's nothing wrong with his jumpshots. they're beautiful. (hahaha)

He's damn good. 3rd or 4th best pf in the game.

Not many players in the NBA avg 20, 10, and toss in 4 assists to boot.

He is good no doubt. But a little too marshmallowy for my taste. Settle for waaaaay too many outside jumpers.

Kings anchors keep kissing Webber's ass on how great a free throw shooter he is, making his last 14 FTs. Then he clanked two when it counted most, with 5 seconds left in the 4th.

Good player Webber is. Champions he is not.

Webber has lots of skills. Very talented. He's just weak-minded. Can't handle pressure situation. Not a go-to guy during crunch time. I wouldn't build my franchise around him.

He seriously choked, like everyone else except Bibby in those close playoff games versus LA last year. Shaq was able to come back after we swept him. So Webber and the Kings can, too.

Webber is an excellent passer and shooter. He is better than Rasheed Wallace, but a step below Garnet, and 2 steps below Tim Duncan IMO.

I do not like Webber for stringing-leading Hou. on 2 years ago as an unrestricted FRee agent. He never had any intention if coming here, then later dissed Mobes and Francis.

    Webber is a jerk...

    He has skills

C Webb is the best PF below the elite level. It's his 'head', I believe, that keeps him from the elite status.

I think the guy has some physical problems also, not just his ankles. He is no where near as explosive as he used to be.

CWebb continues to be one of the more unique players in NBA history.

He's actually more of a traditional pass 1st PG than a dominant low-post banger.

He's extremely limited in the post, yet is one of the most gifted passers out of the post ever and has\had a HOF-level drop step.

He shoots one shot, the jumper, but hits it as if he were a SG.

When he wants to, he blocks shots and rebounds like a C.

    CWebb is a 6'10", 250lb SG, and I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

How well would you play if you had it in the back of your mind that their is 30% chance you could go to prison for lying to the
    (cough, cough) grand jury?

You can see it in his eyes he is worried.

Kings got robbed last year but I think Maloof and company will be holding up the golden trophy!;)

i don't understand how a player can rain 18-20 foot jumpers all night and shoot 60% from the free throw line.

Who are those in the elite level?

To his credit, Cwebb is a very good team player and passer. But my beaf with him is that he is not a legitimate "go-to" player.

ok, i agree with most of what you've said, except for the HOF-level drop step. chris webber's footwork in the post might be the absolute worst in the nba (as far as power forwards go). his base is entirely too narrow, and despite having rocks for shoulders, almost never uses them to clear room on his drop step jump hook.

the player with the absolute best footwork in the post (for power forwards), is EASILY antoine walker. walker's problem, however, is that he has less explosion than eddie griffin. does antoine even know what a fast twitch muscle is?? i digress...

webber's main problem always has been, and always will be, between his ears. for all the physical talent that he has (and has LOADS of it), he has never been a reliable go to player because of his lack of mental focus.

it goes all the way back to when he was at michigan and called for that damn timeout when the fab 5 had no more left, and cost them the game (and the championship).

it moves on to when he was at washington and couldn't stay out of trouble off the court. and it moves on to sacramento, where - even now - he has never shown the ability to take over a game down the stretch.

and...mark my words...it'll finish in another nba city 3 years from now, after the kings trade him for not being able to get past yao ming & the houston rockets (after years of not being able to get past shaq/kobe and the la lakers).

chris webber is a more focused derrick coleman, and a less focused kevin garnett. talented beyond belief...an intriguing enigma sure to deliver grief...

    Garnett, Duncan. Dirk.

Malone was elite, still (dadburnit) close. Jermaine is on the verge. 'Sheed would be if he weren't so 'dangerous'. McDyess was better, maybe will be again? Brand is better.

Webber is definitely one of the best....but he's not part of the elite power forwards.

The elite are Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, and Dirk Nowitzki.

The stars are Chris Webber, Elton Brand, Rasheed Wallace, Rashard Lewis, Pau Gasol, Antoine Walker, and those types.

Chris Webber is definitely not MVP. He is a good midrange shooter. And he is a good passer.....but really the coach taught him the system. And his post game isn't really that great. He never makes any of those little hooks. His defense isn't even that great. And he was dumb. Remember college. But still......he's still a star. He's just not awesome. The reason he looks so good is because he has Mike Bibby, Peja Stojakovic, and many other good players around him.
