Zac, this is a problem that I have spoke to you about before with regard to Albert Garcia. He was listed on my ratings page, but was nowhere to be found on any of my minor league teams or my major league roster. I believe you had to trade him away and then back before he showed up. Well, it has happened again with Nathan Kerrigan, another decently talented MR who has been getting zero innings because of this glitch. Do you know if there are any other players I have that are not showing up? Is this a problem that others have had with OOTP? Something that might be fixed? Garcia seems to be largely unaffected by the problem (except that I lost a couple years of productivity out of him), but that won't always be the case and my team is hurting for relief anyway. Kerrigan is already 26. Has anyone else had this problem?
A lot of people have this problem, actually. I did too. But, for the most part, it's with players who are so amazingly non-talented that, were they to appear in the minors, they would immediately be released by their GM. I would imagine that your specific problem generally arises when these horrid, horrid players have a talent increase or two and become viable prospects, and the fact that Kerrigan was picked in the 15th round seems to bear that out. As far as I know, there's nothing that can be done to fix it on the whole -- keeping a small minor-league system seems to help, but other than that it'll just have to be handled on a case-by-case basis. Like I say, usually it doesnt matter since these are generally FPF players or the like who aren't appearing in the minors, but in some cases, I can see it being a problem.
Okay, that's fine. The fact that I didn't even remember reading Kerrigan's name even once before yesterday also lends credence to your theory of it only happening to the...uhh...non-cream (thick?) of the crop. On a side note, I really need to use the phrase "bears that out" more often.
