Hey at least we won't have to play the waiting game and can move on to the next option if he ends up signing elsewhere.

I'm sure he'll take the full 9 days to think it thru and make the right decision. We all know what that is of course.

As pointed out by Cat, this report only states he'll sign the first day available. Doesn't say anything about when he'll actually make his decision, just that he'll be ready to sign.

Although I think he's going back to LAL, you can't sit there and NOT pursue him. Never know; long shot might hit.

    ok, i take your words.

what is the cap for the next season? what is the tax thread?

if lakers amnesty gasol, would it help them on financial situation?

but one thing for sure, class 14 is not problem for lakers. by that time, they will be way under the cap.

The cap is rumored to be at $58.5 million and the luxury tax around $72 million. This is their current salary situation, without Dwight:

As far as the summer of 2014, they want to be as much under as they possibly can, and giving up $12 million to a below-average big man in Jordan isn't the way to do it.

Yes, they can amnesty Gasol to help their financials. That's why it's their plan to do that, should Dwight return. But in the context of a possible trade, you have to ask yourself: is the return coming in better than Gasol? I don't think there's a GM in the league that would take Butler/Jordan over Gasol, especially considering that Gasol's contract is expiring and Jordan's is not.

I thought it was said before that contracts can't be signed until July 12th, but you can make a verbal agreement after the 1st.

Looking forward to ESPN airing it live on "The Decision - Part II".

I'll be taking my talents to Stewart Beach.

No, it has to be something like "..the Bayou City!"

    Miami : South Beach
    Houston : The Bayou City

I figured it out... Spring Breakers will be out on iTunes on July 9th. He's waiting for Morey to fill up the iPad with goodies. He's coming to Houston!

This eliminates dallas, because they dont even have the cap space to sign him.

Its looking real good to be a rockets fan.

If we do get Dwight, he better be healthy and dominate the whole season to make all this drama worth it.

This. Howard is trying to be more decisive by giving a definitive date and the earliest date he can decide. As far as him signing with the Rockets, I will believe it when I see it.
