Hi, all. My work is interested in obtaining a new gTLD. By the looks of it, it's a very tedious and long process. In reading the Application Guidebook right now, and I'm starting to piece it together.

Just wondering if anyone here has been through this process or has knowledge in the application/approval process at ICANN. I'd like to hear about experiences and see cliff notes while I read this guidebook. Thanks!

It should be a very tedious and long process.

Not to be unsupportive of your work: but, I hope your company doesn't succeed in being granted one. In fact, I was unaware that you could apply for a new one. I'm not up on the most recent regulation changes. I thought the best you could do was apply to administrate an existing one.

Are you going after an "Unrestricted" or "Sponsored" gTLD?

Unrestricted. Is there a reason you are against obtaining new gTLD?
