SirHangover and Holden are the only ones making ground-breaking sense...aside from Doc Rocket going for some more prophetability on page 1, only.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Page one is what is all about, I hear.

No it is ok I have been bashed on here since day 1 so another day does not phase me at all.
I speak my mind and I am very upfont about it. I feel many Houston based fans who live here complain about attendace, lack of this, lack of that but yet those are usually the ones who do not go to one single game to even help fill up the seats.

I was telling the truth on what I know and I will say it again
Steve will not be happy if Ming is drafted and stays here, this is and will always be a political headache,Same scenario is close to what Dallas has to endure with Wang.

And Cuban has even pointed out, he thinks they will eventually lose him because of the politics and commitments Wang has to endure.

Now Ming shocks the world and defects then we have a new scenario but that would endanger his life and his families if he did so.
But the list of demands China wants is outrageous.
This is a simple NBA draft were athletes can excel and make themselves better and make a name for themselves.
Stern himself pointed out he would be interested in expanding internationally but it will not be anytime soon....Now if your a player would you wanna fly to La to play the lakers then have to take a trip to China to play 1 game? Or in that region.

It is sad because Ming is being used by Stern to gain China's attention to the Nba and China is using Ming as Bait to get compensation. When it all boils down to it The kid wants to play basketball.

Understand whatever the Rockets do Rudy's job is on the line with this one....
CD would like to have Ming but CD also wants Dunleavy and Jay Will.
Rudy wants Dunleavy bad as well as Caron Butler.
Francis wants Jay Will ,why I do not know its his preference but he has also mentioned as well Dunleavy and Odom.

I think Francis is being a leader when it comes to him speaking his mind on what he thinks would be best for the team and where we will be in 3 years.
Francis loves Houston and the Fans he has an established home and a very high profit making business....
I still have faith in Cato and so does his teammates and I do know come next season you will see a much bigger Griffin and Cato.

Ok, so now it's "Steve will not be happy if Ming is drafted and stays here? That's a really long way from "Draft Ming and I'm out of here". It also makes alot more sense. If it's true, then that's Francis' preference and he's entitled to it. If it's true, then I also commend him for not saying anything publicly. Whether that really is Francis' opinion or not, it still would make no sense to believe that he would threaten to leave over the Rockets choice in the draft. I believe that was the point in your post that most people disbelieved.

And Cuban has even pointed out, he thinks they will eventually lose him because of the politics and commitments Wang has to endure.

Couple of points.

Is this the same Mark Cuban that denied that the Mavs would consider a deal for Raef LaFrenz and then did the deal a week later?

Wang's situation is different. It's been dicussed in numerous threads here. His obligation is to the Red Army Team and he's got a special clause written into his NBA contract. Wang has to go back for both committments to the Chinese National team as well as committments for the Red Army Team. This would not be true for Yoa Ming.

But the list of demands China wants is outrageous.
Carrol Dawson was quoted this week as saying that they really didn't know what the Chinese would demand and they would have to find out. So, if our GM isn't sure of what the demands are, then how can you know?

There's a ton of rumors, hoaxes and disinformation floating around. Writers keep picking it up and repeating it. Don't believe it until you see something official.

i hate to hear about the "demands" that francis is making and honestly, i cannot see how we can survive in the west without a capable competant center. not even a great one. just a good one. running a trio of cat, jwill, and steve still boggles the mind. if this means that steve wants to move to the 2 and cat to the 3 then i'm sorta for it. but if this is just another one of those 'i want the best player available w/o considering if this is the best player FOR THE TEAM' kind of thinking...well ...we'll always have TMo to be a reminder.

i don't discount TB's posts at all. take it w/ a grain of salt i do.

but this boggles the mind:

1. grizzlies draft francis knowing that they already have a PG in bibby.
2. francis don't want to play the 2 and demands a trade to play on a team as a PG
3. francis comes here and plays the PG
4. francis now wants supposedly jwill who is a PG
5. francis says that he will bolt if we draft a center (a bigger need) instead of a PG(not even a necessity)

......

steddinotayto,

Of course if this "Draft Ming and I am out of here" thing was true, the ulitimate irony (sad, but still ironic) would be that the Rockets gave in and drafted Jay Williams and then Williams refuses to play here and forces a trade because he wants to play point.

A leader doesn't threaten to walk out on his employer, fans and teamates just because he doesn't agree with his bosses' decision on a player. Especially, when that leader has already publicly admitted that he hasn't even seen the other player.

If Francis loves his teammates and Houston, then he's not going to damage them by walking away just because he didn't get his way on a draft selection. It makes no sense. I too agree Francis is a leader, that's why I doubt he issued an ultimatum.

If Cato comes in improved next year and he's better than Ming, then Cato will play. I fail to see how Cato's improvement has anything to do with acquiring Ming? Front court is our weakest position. How could adding Ming along side the "new improved" Cato going to do anything but help the team? Doesn't that make alot more sense than adding another player (no matter the talent level) to our strongest position? We already has a starting PF when we drafted Griffen, was that disloyal to Taylor?

Troy,
Bro, exactly what are you smokin? and how can i get some of that? I really am trying to comprehend what you are saying but you are being extremely illogical.

1. Steve has done countless interviews and he has said not a single word on who the rockets should pick or whether they should trade or whatever. HE HAS NEVER COMMENTED ON ANYTHING ABOUT THE DRAFT W/ RESPECT TO DIFFERENT PLAYERS BEING DRAFTED. Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth? lol. Why if at all he said anything would come on national tv and say this?

2. NY sux, will always suck and they are a team full of sisies ala camby. I even know for a fact that NY has several starters on the NBA all sissy team.

I dont care if we get Ming or not, but I know one thing no way in hell what you are saying is true. :D

Damnit HeyPee,

I was thinking of this ever since page 1. Now I'm not taking any sides yet, but I'm sure there must be some sort of bet that can come out of all this. Money, moniker, member status....something fun can happen.

LOOOOOOL!

Why is TroyBaros' title: Special Friend of Steve Francis?

Man, everything he said was untrue, and in fact, the opposite of everything he said came true.

Steve and Ming are like brothers. Steve is staying here. Games won't be played abroad during the season. He is not a priject. Griffin is not that much stronger.

It's just funny now...
