My original pick was Spurs in 6, and it certainly looked like that was how it was going to turn out.. up until the last 20 seconds of the game. Unfortunately, I don't think the Spurs are going to win tomorrow. In fact, I think it's going to be a double digit deficit. Once the Heat start rolling, it's going to be hard for the Spurs to stand put. Duncan looked devastated today and yesterday at the podium, it almost looked as if he was about to cry. Duncan won't have a monster game like he did yesterday. The only good thing the Spurs can take from this loss is that the Heat barely beat them when Parker and Manu were both off, and Green wasn't hitting any shots, neither was Neal. However, I just don't see how the Spurs can go into Game 7 tomorrow, knowing they just flat out choked and still pull off the victory. I will be (pleasantly) surprised if they somehow win.
Depends on when ABC started airing the games. Could be not that big of a deal. Pretty sure NBC had the games in the Jordan era; Magic/Bird era was probably CBS.
I missed the game last night since I was under the knife. May an unbiased viewer enlighten me on what happened?
Duncan was very dominant first half, Spurs were in control for the majority of the game, lebron/Wade were poor, but lebron picked it up in the 4th, ignited a run and the heat defence intensified. Bosh hedged very well, Parker made clutch shots and SA was up 5, before Pops decided to go small to switch more easily and guard the 3. But they couldnt rebound, Ginobli/Leonard split FTs that would've put it out of reach, Allen tied it up. Spurs blew it. There were questionable calls but doesnt change the fact the Spurs inability to rebound and hit their freethrows meant the left the door open. and MIA went storming through it. But if any team can rebound from this, its the Spurs.
$30 on Spurs. Man hate seeing Tracy benchsitter, every time i wish we could only see 5minutes T-MAC, Spurs could have used it last night. Anyway past is the past.
1. Tim Duncan wrecking people in the first half 2. Lebron MIA, Bosh...enh, Wade was attack early on... 3. Second half, Miami tried closing the gap...but Leonard and TD were playing possessed.. Spurs up by 10-12 by the end of the 3rd... 4. A shoeless 3 by Miller, and handbandless Lebron was just going beast mode...Heat took the lead and looked to all but finish off the comeback... 5. TP/Ginobli woke up with huge plays...Spurs down three, and then went up 5(couple of blown FTs) with about 50 seconds left...TD goes out for defensive switches...Lebron bricks a 3...loose ball recovered by Heat, Lebron nails a long three...Kwahi, goes to the line and goes 1/2... 6. 28 seconds left...NBA rolls out the trophy for the Spurs to the side...and Lebron attempts a three, off the mark, scramble tip by Bosh to Jesus Shuttleworth who nails the corner 3...tie game...5 seconds left(no Timeouts for either side) 7. Refs stop the game to review the 3...Spurs desperation heave at the basket way off the mark... OT 8. Ginobli TO, Lebron TO, Bosh basket, Allen FTs...Spurs down by 3 with 1.9 sec left...terrific cross court pass to Green at the right Corner...stuffed by Bosh...ball game...onto game 7!
I think it is the worst game I have ever seen him play. I am sure there are others but I can't recall any worse. He looked like he was spastic.
I think Spurs might get even more focused on the game as every single player will feel mad for personally letting one slip away. Plus if they believe they're the champ they'll play like one. Think about the determination after poor plays by Manu, Parker, Green, and Duncan egging most of 2nd half. Spurs players would bringing it upon themselves to right the wrong, whereas heat players might feel lucky and light headed However, another factor is fatigue. 2 days off will favor the younger big 3. Spurs will rely more on Leonard, Green and if Parker's hamstring feel a little better. My point is don't count the Spurs out. Still, every team had responded after a loss so far.
