People always say the Game 5 winner always wins.

I'm really excited about this game 5. But anyone who says Game 5 determines the winner ... need to learn more about the Rockets and Hakeem.

    Go Tinman
    Go Rockets
    Go History

Is Hakeem the only player in the history of the NBA to win Game 6 and 7, after losing Game 5

3 years ago...but, Exactly. So who else?

The 5th game "Rule" doesn't really apply to finals and 2-3-2

    Hakeem proved it.

My sources tell me the winner of game 7 normally wins.

Sonics won Game 5 in '96 and still lost. But they were already down 3-0. Are we talking any Game 5, or just when it's tied?

I think the general comment is when it's tied. But, I don't think it applies to the Finals as much as it does the earlier rounds.

This seems like a really petty thread. A battle of 99ers should be reserved for something with more substance than how a statistical trend is not a fact.

    pretty dumb.

Btw. We aren't really brothers until you and I go to a game together. Why u no go to game

And on that note. I once attended the same Summit game as TheFreak. No plans. No communication was necessary. I just knew he was in the house. You couldn't miss him. TheFreak "live" commands your attention

Lakers in 2010, not 08. And lakers in 88. And rockets. That's it. I think.

"Of the 27 times the finals have been tied at 2-2, the Game 5 winner has won 20 of them."

    the Syracuse Nationals in 1955
Celtics did it in 62 and in 1969.
    Washington did it in 1978.
    -------------2-3-2---------------
the Lakers did it in 88 and in 2010.
    and the Rockets in 94

otherwise the winner of Game 5 (when it's tied) usually just goes on to close it in 6, which is indeed 'the rule' and the norm...
