i actually feel sorry for those people. having to live 9 months of the year in permafrost. having terrible crumbling 2nd world infrastructure. no nba teams (raptors don't even count). high taxes. justin bieber. no wonder they're so miserable..
Hey...the OP is right. Of course Canadians are smug assholes. Just look at the facts: - We're nicer than Americans - We've seen our dollar go from 67 cents to the dollar to par in the last 15 years - People around the world don't hate us for trying to be world police - Our health care system is broken, but you won't go bankrupt if you get a major disease - We don't have nearly as many government agencies spying on our citizens - We don't have a massive immigration problem because Mexicans aren't stupid enough to come up to a country where it's winter six months of the year - We have the best hockey players in the world, and contract them out to US cities so that they can bring home that Celine Dion money. - We even give best and brightest in entertainment, sports, health care and IT to the US because they can make more money there and they never come back. - and gosh darn it, we're just so humble. in many parts of the US, the roads and public transport i would agree. but in canada even the buildings are just a sorry eyesore. they make cleveland look cutting-edge
I live in Calgary (3 year assignment) and people here are friendly and cool. I just wish beer wasn't so expensive...
