This is their 3rd Mock Draft. In each of them, they have the Texans trading down from the #3 spot. Before they had us trading down with the Packers. Now they've got us trading with the Jets (the pick they got as compensation for Coles).

They seem pretty adamant of the fact that we're trading our #1. I wonder why?

That totally caught me off guard too. I'm one of Leftwich's biggest fans.

But I have heard that he has slipped behind Boller in the quarterback class of '03. Plus there are still some strong doubts about his injury.

Once you get past a handful of teams near the top, most of the rest aren't looking to invest into a 1st round QB (would rather get immediate help at another position)...

So sadly, it makes a little sense.

yeah, and there's also a chance he could drop like a mofo.

Doesn't seem that far-fetched to me(for the Texans neway, mebbe even the Cowboys).

Are there really any must have studs at #3 if Rogers isn't there? If you trade down(not to the point where the talent level drops too steeply tho) and get an extra pick, then go for it.

"With a first-rounder acquired from Washington as compensation for Laveranues Coles, the Jets trade at least the No. 13 pick and their third rounder (No. 85 overall) to take a difference-maker -- something the 5-11, 196-pound Coles isn't. "

    This is a joke...

There is no way you would trade a #3 for a #13 and a #85...

CNNSI please...They're smoking the too much peace pipe...

SI has it set in their minds that the Texans need a OT, and that's who they think the Texans should take.

Don't be fooled, SI isn't "projecting" at all, they are "suggesting", which makes that entire Mock Draft irrelevant, IMHO.

That has to be the worst mock I've read this year....

    Leftwich at #27?
Ken Hamlin and Julian freaking Battle over Troy Polamalu and Mike Doss?
Woolfolk had bad workouts and in a lot of mocks has fallen to the bottom or out of the first not #12.
    Corey Redding at #16?
Where the hell is Eric Steinbach and Jeff Faine if either one fell to the second round the Texans would fall all over themselves to grab them.

At first I thought the worst was the Texan trade no way in hell do the Texans drop ten spots for a third rounder, not even for a second rounder. However, rumors persist that the Rams are looking to trade Orlando Pace. They are lobbying hard to trade for Kyle Turley, (not for Pace but to replace him). And Carl Poston has said he has asked the Rams to trade his client. If the Texans could drop down to #13 gain a third rounder and ship the pick for Pace, (at a reasonable salary not a $24 million dollar signing bonus like Poston was asking), hey great. Or the above scenario and trade for Turley instead.

The rumor I heard was both of the Jets #1's (#13 and #22 overall) for our #1 and maybe our #2 or one of our third rounders. Either way or no way at all I for one can't wait for the draft.
