Can we actually feel safe or comfortable going to another country now? Even the damn Canadians are booing our national anthem.

Anyone going on vacation out of the country anytime soon?

Please let us know how it goes...if you return alive.

The world is a much different place this week. We are no longer looked up to but frowned upon and pissed on. I guess we all better start dealing with our new status of loathed Americans. I'm sure foreigners will be flocking here for vacations like never before.

I certainly hope this war was worth it. Sad part is we may never know.

    That's a little dramatic now isn't it?

Besides, if you're worried about traveling just pretend you're Canadian and no one will mess with you. ;)

We were loathed before the war. The war has just given the world an excuse to voice their hatred.

    Great empires are always loathed.

and just because the loudest voices are booing at hockey games, doesn't mean that's real consensus.

I'm an American, and foriegners can loathe me all they want.

I'm going to London in three months, let them say something to my face. But I think the green in my pocket will shut their bloody pieholes.

I think that yes, we are the police of the world, and thank god. Without the U.S. there would be chaos. You need police. And if you hate us that is fine. Because I know you'll be the first person to be shaking our hand when somebody trys to murder you and we show up to stop them. So go ahead. Hate me. That's your problem. I feel good eveytime I help someone.

    Who cares, we are awesome.

    PAX AMEICANA forever!!!

People are upset, but I think the majority of the PEOPLE in the countries against this war will be more willing to forgive and forget than we will. Which is a shame. Nobody wants to be the bigger man anymore. I get the feeling from some people (not really in here, but maybe) who feel like the next step is world domination by the US, GB, Australia, and our toadies.

Why do you think that other countries are more willing to forgive than we are? Are we going around protesting against other countries? It is France and Germany who have growing resentment over America's power. Remember that Schroeder got elected with anti-Americanism rhetoric.

I don' t know if that is true. Check out this blog.

    Here is an excerpt:

    :: Sunday, March 16, 2003 ::
No one inside Iraq is for war (note I said war not a change of regime), no human being in his right mind will ask you to give him the beating of his life, unless you are a member of fight club that is, and if you do hear Iraqi (in Iraq, not expat) saying “come on bomb us” it is the exasperation and 10 years of sanctions and hardship talking. There is no person inside Iraq (and this is a bold, blinking and underlined inside) who will be jumping up and down asking for the bombs to drop. We are not suicidal you know, not all of us in any case.
I think that the coming war is not justified (and it is very near now, we hear the war drums loud and clear if you don’t then take those earplugs off!). The excuses for it have been stretched to their limits they will almost snap. A decision has been made sometime ago that “regime change” in Baghdad is needed and excuses for the forceful change have to be made. I do think war could have been avoided, not by running back and forth the last two months, that’s silly. But the whole issue of Iraq should have been dealt with differently since the first day after GW I.

I have a friend of mine that recently got back from Germany and he said that the anti-American sentiment was really high and if you said that you're from Texas it was even worse. They pretty much said to him how could you put a man like Bush in office. Most of the hatred is directed towards Bush than just the American people.

"Is it better to be loved or feared?"

"That's a good question. It's great to be both, but it's very difficult. But if I had my choice, I would rather be feared. Fear lasts longer than love." - Bronx Tale

Is that really a surprise? This is Germany we're talking about here. You know, the country that blamed all it's problems on the Jews about 50 years ago.
