Maybe he found a lawyer who then told him to shut the f*** up about it. What seems strange to me is that the guy disappears and takes this HUGE risk for $50k?
I think op is David Hoang aka twills cousin, trying to make us feel sorry for him so he can get our money. It's a scam. Am I right Antec brosky?
This is the real kicker here--so it's embarassing to tell the people close to you that your friend robbed you blind? Wouldn't they be the FIRST group to tell considering they might communicate with said a-hole?
This doesn't make sense. Why not just go to the cops? Or if you knew him for 15 years then you probably knew some of his family...why not contact them?
This is highly likely. Anything beyond what he's already said would harm his ability to max out his returns if he went after the guy. Hope he goes after the guy civil and criminal style. Hate it when this happens to small guys who conduct business honestly and in good faith. Trust should never be abused.
Call your insurance agent and make sure you have crime coverage. Theft won't do it in a circumstance like this.
Finally found him. He wrote out a check for the total amount he owed when I showed up to where he now lives after the work of a P.I. friend. Threatened to sue him for everything we have made and plus more, and almost beat his ass. But he wrote the check out, took it to the bank to check the funds. the funds passed, badabing badaboom. Had to restrain myself more than I ever have from going back to beat his face in. found him in Greenspoint in the hood in a home I had no idea he even had( and I knew this guy for YEARS). Apparently I'm not the only one he has done this to. Found some of his old business partners, and they say he has made off with almost a million dollars. Nobody has been able to find him until my friend found him. I got in contact with some of old business partners and gave them his location, and the name he is operating under. I'm relieved, but I feel bad for the guys that have been taken for much much much more money than he tried from me. Some guys have had $100,000-$200,000 stolen from them. His name isn't even the name I knew him buy. He's a shark always searching for prey.
also want to add. I never knew how easy it was to pick a lock with a bump-key. my friend showed me this last night to enter his home. he nearly had a heart attack while eating a big fat juicy steak and we come walking into the kitchen like..." whatsup homie"
