Has anyone ever done this before. I was thinking about going through peoplefirst.com to see what rate I could get, but was a little worried about privacy and things like that. If anyone has or knows someone who has done it, let me know.... Oh yeah Im buying a 2001 Toyota 4Runner SR5 from Carmax in case anyone wanted to know..... Only had 9,000 miles on it
I got a loan through peoplefirst.com. They are basically a broker who work with no name banks. I had really crappy service with the bank that they found for me. Definitely beware and do your research. You are better of going through your bank or a credit union if you belong to one.
Hey ... I just got my car refinanced through ELoan like 2 days ago. The interest rate they offered was 3% lower than my current loan from Nissan. The service has been VERY good, better than I was expecting. Check them out.
I have nothing but positive stuff to say about Peoplefirst.com I got the lowest rate at the time 6.25% and everything is available online. You can see your loan payments and how much was applied to interest/principal.
Thanks for bringing this up Drew... I was just getting ready to start my first thread in ages to ask this exact same question.. I have another question for those of you who have done this, or know something about financing vehicles. I just paid off my bankruptcy at the beginning of the year, what kind of rate am I likely to get? and will I still be able to use one of these online financing services? I appreciate any input or advice yall can offer, I'm really looking forward to getting a relatively new car.
R2K - I would recommend that you get a credit report to get your score. This will give you an idea of your situation. If you are over 700 then you will probably get a good rate. I would try something like this site http://www.myfico.com/ These are the actual scores that auto dealers pull when you try to get financed. They give you your FICO score. Or any other site that gives you a score like these: www.experian.com - credit bureau, good site. www.equifax.com - credit bureau, decent site. www.truecredit.com - nice site.
Yeah, its cool. I know you can call your lender and get a payoff anytime, but I like it online. I like to see how much of my payment went against interest/principal.
