Miami actually played really well. So much better than they played in any game against the Pacers AND THEY STILL LOST THE GAME. I'm not really sure what happened other than the spurs are wizards.
This series will be interesting. Looks like any game is a toss up. Any team can win any game at a given night. Unlike the Pacers, the Spurs don't do dumb things to lose games. The Heat have to actually play well to beat them, which Lebron and Co. are capable of doing.
I watched the game again and Miami looked tired and gassed in the 4th qtr. They played with a tremendous amount of energy on both ends for 3 qtrs, but couldn't keep up the same level of intensity in the final period. Spo knew his players would be tired as a result of the long grueling series with Indy, which is why he played 10 guys in the 1st half, but playing Battier in the 1st half and then benching Lebron and Wade at the same time in the 2nd half were both mistakes. Spurs had the long rest and were able to execute better down the stretch to win the game. Both teams missed open, makeable shots. I actually think the 2 day rest in between games 1 and 2 will benefit Miami more. This series is going 6 or 7 games with most of them being close imo.
Key point, they are a lot smarter than Pacers and better coached. The Heat are a bit "hung over" from the seven game series with the Pacers. They appeared to run out of gas in the fourth. Looks like every game is going to be a dog fight with the very little things deciding the outcome.
why is anyone betting against the heat, havent u guys learned anything from this forums: 1) they have future all time great and goat lebron james (already passed jordan) 2) they got dwade, almost as good as kobe ???? 3) they have self claimed future hof Chris "no rebound" bosh ( and hes been a hof for 4 years now) 4) they got video guy coach Erik spoelstra, he is way younger than that dinosaur popovich guy. 5) The got all time greatest 3 point shooter, 95 year old ray allen. 6) Self claimed top 10 pg on this league ( close to TP level) Mario Chalmers. 7) best team player ever Shane " no stats " battier 8) they just got back future dpoy Chris BIRDMAN Andersen, probably the best weak side defender on this league, he was the difference on the pacers series ( or so i read here) I dont know guys, i read this forums a lot and this info i got from here... i feel is 100% accurate. Heat on 5, they werent trying the first game, they will get the next 4 like last year. They can turn it on and off like u do with your light switch. poor spurs no chance.

pretty much, with the finals format 2-3-2 I think its already way up with just winning 1 away game. The thing is both of these teams can pull away games because they are that good...and to the league's credit this has been called very fairly with little to no home-cooking.
Spurs are not a Top 10 rebounding team in the league so that's for those who worry. They are Top 5 or No.1 or 2 in Defensive Rebounding but dead last in Offensive Rebounding because they do not crash the boards there. so overall mediocre Miami is a pretty good defensive team themselves so I don't see why they cannot hold the Spurs below 90 for a couple of games

They didn't hold the Pacers to less than 90 one single time. I don't think it's a stretch to expect that game 1 is the least sharp the Spurs will be on offense during the Finals. But you have to play the games so we'll see. The biggest problem the Heat must address is the offensive end. If they only put up 36 points in the 2nd half again in game 2, they are done. IMO, one adjustment Spoelstra has to make is reducing Wade's minutes so he's effective late. He fell off a cliff in game 1. Spo has to break from the Pat Riley mode this time, deal with reality and limit Wade to about 30 mins. LeBron will have to score more to make up the slack unless a bench player get hot.
