We all know that they are able to offer Dwight that "Big 3" angle, but would that team honestly have a better team than the Rockets team with just Dwight. Harden. and a better supporting cast? If Dwight were to go to Atlanta with Paul, their starting lineup would look like: PG: Chris Paul SG: Lou Williams SF: PF: Al Horford C: Dwight Howard This lineup puts their salary cap at almost at cap with maybe $1m or less in wiggle room, which will severely limit their ability to add quality free agents. They also have the #17, #18, #47, and #50 picks in the draft, but they will probably have to trade them away because unsigned first round picks count toward the cap. Unsigned 2nd round picks DO NOT count toward the cap. Dwight comes solo here in Houston and the projected lineup will look like (Assuming Robinson is trade obviously, and assuming we cut Anderson, Garcia, Delfino, and Smith): PG: Jeremy Lin / Beverly SG: James Harden SF: Chandler Parsons/Jones? PF: (I do not know if Asik or Dwight will play this position)/Motiejunas C: (Same thing as power forward)/ This lineup is basically at the cap. Rockets have the 34th pick Obvious Variables: - Will Dwight even leave LA? - Will Paul even leave LA?
Didn't you just answer the question yourself? Nearly at the cap with a 5 man roster? Actually, with the $490k min cap holds (7 spots left to fill on the roster), both CP3 and Howard would both have to take ~$1.4M pay cuts EACH to just form a team that would be AT the cap, consisting of: CP3, Lou Williams, Horford, Howard, Jenkins, cap holds x 7 uhhh...lol.
I haven't seen anything that makes me think Paul is wanting to go to Atlanta, and I haven't seen anything about Howard that was Pro-Atlanta. You can't rule them out, but I think Lakers, Rockets, and even Mavs are definitely ahead of them by a good margin. But obviously that's all just from what we're hearing through the media. Could be inaccurate.
I'm saying that somewhat goes beyond opinion. That is just financial improbability. I think it was more viable when people were hoping the cap to be $62M or $63M, but now they'd have to give away their picks, have CP3 and D12 both agree to $1.4M paycuts each, and then somehow build a roster that doesn't cost more than $490k per player? With only a starting 4 on hand. I don't know, does that even count as financially realistic? Because then I would say CP3/Howard/Parsons/Harden is also likely, so why not haha.
no not by himself but I seen and read that if CP3 goes to ATL then Dwight will think about going to ATL cause him and CP3 have been wanting to play together
The tampering was non-existent. The marketing department is r****ded. I'd anticipate a possible fine, with losing a 2nd round draft pick as the worst case scenario.
as other have mention, here's the link http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-b...g-charges-ticket-advertisement-194928526.html
No way in hell Dallas has a chance. They're old and don't have the players that Dwight Howard can compete with. L.A is the same but they at least have Hollywood and have the max money to spend it on Dwight. Atlanta is a real threat because they can sign him and Chris Paul and still have Al Horford. I hope the beard talks to Dwight a lot that will be out only way to get Dwight.
howard cant deal with pressure. He couldnt deal with it in a mellow city like orlando and he couldnt deal with it in LA's bright lights. how much more hometown pressure? Houston has that middle ground even keel pressure that is best suited for Dwight's fragile mental state.
