I really like Ledo... If the Rockets drafted him they wouldn't need G-Lock. Ledo is a combo guard and he can run the point, practically did it all year long last season. Beverly and Ledo would be enough to backup both Lin in Harden (unless he's injured it's not like Harden will be on the bench much and Beverly will be eating into Lin's time so Lin could back up Harden as well). And Bullock is a small forward.

And what's all the interest in Milsap...? Morey would probably stick with TJ before he would throw money on the fire for him.

I want a younger player that has not gotten much time but has played better or as good as the player in front of him. I want a player with something to prove; a chip on his shoulder if you will.

    D-Mo
    ...for...
    Jordan Hamilton
Denver could use a player like D-Mo and we need a player like Hamilton. They are over stocked at the wing like we are a power forward.

    or

    Smith and Anderson
    ...for...
    MarSharn Brooks
Net will need a big when Blatche walks (FA) and MarSharn mins are cut to less than 15 this season with the Joe Johnson signing.

Moving the power forwards plus what we get for Robinson trade maybe a Blatche signing to play next to Howard would just be awesome!

    Sign-and-Trade scenario for Dwight

    1. Lakers amnesty Artest
    2. A third team fully absorb Nash's contract. Hey Mavs, let's party?

If tax threshold is 71.6M, then apron would be 75.6M.

Removing Nash and Artest allows LAL to receive a S&T player as their payroll will be under the apron after trading with Houston.

    Lakers: Lin, Garcia S&T, Smith
    (8,374,646 + 6,000,000 + 884,293) + 5 million = 20,258,939
    Rockets: Howard (S&T)

S&T leaves the Rockets with these options:
    * MLE
    * Bi-annual exception
    * Non-Bird exception: Delfino (max 3.6M) , Brooks (max 3.0096M), Boykins (No S&T)
    * Unguaranteed contracts: Anderson, Ohlbrecht

    (Brooks S&T, Jones, White, Anderson, Ohlbrecht) x 150% + 100k = 12,078,836

    Beverly, (MLE/BAE)
    Harden, (34th MLE/BAE)
    Parsons, (Delfino Non-Bird)
    (12M), DMo, (Aldemir MLE/BAE)
    Howard, Asik

The point of trading Robinson is to get rid of his salary, not take more back. It's all about getting enough space to offer Howard a max deal.

The Rockets are trying to cut salary though in order to pursue Howard -- that is the whole reason they want to move Robinson. Trading him for Granger would move in the opposite direction, and Granger would just be a highly paid bench player on this team next season. Plus we'd have to trade Asik and Lin for almost no salary back in order to cut enough salary to pursue Howard subsequent to such a Granger deal.

    So, no.

    re t-rob for granger...

haha for the record, i'm not a fan of granger (far prefer parsons) and i understand shedding t-rob to prime space for howard, but it just seemed like the type of unexpected/opportunistic move morey might make. also i think his contract expires next year so... lebron 2014?! ha...

also i was tired of scrolling through this:

anyway, it was fun creating a thread; my bad for not posting it to this one.

Why would the Lakers do this? They don't want Lin or Smith and if they refuse a S&T, Rockets need to release Garcia (not execute the team option) so Lakers can pick him up more cheaply. Also if Lakers refuse a S&T with the Rockets, it eliminates the rockets from the chase for Dwight.

Rumor has it that Morey was kicking the tires on Granger in February, but Morey is a tire kicker.

But I would take it and Granger and Parsons can play together.

I wonder if Rockets do S n T for Paul i know we need to involve 3rd team in it. and if we do what would take for rockets to get him and who would be the 3rd team.

can we do trade with Bos n Lac

    Hou In: Paul
Hou Out: Lin, Asik, Donuts, Robinson, Anderson

Lac In: Lin, Pierce, Robinson, Anderson
    Lac Out: Butler, Paul

    Bos In: Butler, Donuts, Asik
Bos Out: Pierce and maybe Pick or Picks

    Hou Lineup

    Paul / Beverley
    Harden /
    Parsons/ Delfino
    Jones /
    Howard / Smith or FA

with this i dont know if we r going to be over the cap or how would salary end up for this year. someone with this knowledge would be appreciated.

    What do you guys think?

    sign Howard
trade Lin, t rob royce white cash and a second round pick to the suns for dudley(more realistically beasley) and shannon brown

this would shave about 5-6 mill and solidify the back up pg and 2/3

    A mega-blockbuster for fun:

    Houston trades: Lin, Asik, Robinson
    Houston receives: Deron Williams

    Brooklyn trades: Williams, Humphries
    Brooklyn receives: Bosh, Lin

    Miami trades: Bosh
    Miami receives: Asik, Granger

    Indiana trades: Granger
    Indiana receives: Humphries, Robinson

Yup, prefer two back-up PGs to a starting PG + a back-up PG.

Interesting, but I don't think Brooklyn will party to this. Miami might, but Indiana is trying to re-sign West and what they really need is better PG/SGs and shooters and the probably wouldn't want to pay nearly $20M/yr at the PF spot.

I think Brooklyn would be wise to consider getting a huge name like Lin back in the NY market plus a Bosh/Lopez duo would make the Nets better inside (basically the Grizzlies of the East).

But, yeah, Indiana is the wild card in this scenario due to A) What sort of return they expect for Granger and B) Finding a way to retain West. That said, Humphries and Robinson could be valuable reserves to a relatively thin squad.

This trade goes down assuming we get Dwight

    HOU gets: Bosh
MIA gets: Omer Asik, cash, and a pick

    The reason Houston does this:
The need for a stretch 4. Bosh has another solid 6 years left. We can resign him for 5 yr/ 60 mil.

    The reason Miami does this:
They need to dump Bosh and can get a great rebounding center in return.
