    where u at, bigtexx?

Meanwhile, the baseball tournament will be the last competition for the UH athletic program as a member of Conference USA before they are headed to "The Conference Formerly Known As The Big East."

Rice and to a lesser extent, SHSU, are really going to be carrying the flag for the state of Texas in the NCAA tournament. UT, TCU, and Baylor, all tournament mainstays, are going to miss out. A&M is on the bubble and UH is even more on the bubble. Dallas Baptist, a team that was in a super regional two seasons ago, is not going to make it either.

UTSA won an automatic bid from winning the WAC tournament, but I don't expect them to make any noise.

I'm too lazy to look all this up, but I'm guessing it has been a long, long time since there was no regional in the state of Texas.

1995 was the last time there were no NCAA baseball regionals in the state of Texas. Just saw someone tweet it. That was the last year the field was 48 teams.

Thanks! We've kinda scuffled this year, but hopefully we're getting hot at the right time! No jinx-o

Texas college sports have blown this calendar year. Hope Rice can make some noise!

Is that right? I thought regionals were hosted in Waco last season...but that may have been super regionals??

There were regional and super regionals in Waco last season. There were regionals in College Station and Houston last season as well.

I was saying this year is the first time since 1995 that there won't be a regional in the state.
