So Morey could agree to a trade, say TRob and our 14 first rounder for Charlotte's pick...or Philly's pick. Or Perhaps move TRob to Charlotte for one of their 14 first rounders. Then have an agreed to trade with Philly...2 14 first rounders for their 11 pick. Philly takes Zeller for us, holds him until we sign Dwight, then sends Zeller to us for the two picks.

Once a teams' season finishes they can trade again. So, yes.

Best case scenario: future first, with protections

Worst case scenario: two future 2nd round picks

This reminds me of when Miami gave away potential filled Michael Beasley to Minnesota and they threw in a first round pick just to take him off their hands. They did near the draft way before Lebron announced he would sign with Miami but I believe Wade and LeBron had been scheming way before that. I really hope the rockets get some kind of confirmation from Howard or Paul before they decide to give away Robinson.

I was thinking that Robinson could be used in a sign and trade for either Paul or Howard but I guess that's not the plan.

I agree. Robinson reminds me of that big, muscular guy on your company softball team. Every once in a while, his athletic ability enables him to blast one over the fence and everyone watches in awe. That's all zeroed out, though, when you have to watch him constantly muff easy grounders and drop little pop flies.

Actually, they didn't do it until after they had LeBron's commitment.

That's part of why their leverage was so low -- everyone knew they were desperate.

I'd rather get a first-round pick NEXT year. That gives us no cap issue this summer, and we get to pick in a better draft after we know who Maurie has added to the roster this summer and how our young guys do next year.

Absolutely. Morey never intended to keep him. Our trade-happy GM makes chess moves 10 steps ahead of the competition so this was not really expected.

Honestly, I'd rather be desperate and lose him for little to nothing after getting Howard than lose him and not get Howard. If Howard is coming and you got nothing at all for him would you really care?

I rather trade tjones and fillers. I like Trob potential, but if we do trade we should go for a pick. This draft is weak though.

I knew Morey traded for Robinson not for his basketball skills.

Very well put. The guy is still young and might grow into a decent role player down the road but as of right now he is of no use to us. We need his salary off the books. Trade him.

Like Clutch said, there's some value in the flexibility in and of itself. When we amnestied Scola last July, everyone assumed that a Dwight deal must be imminent, but the reality is that the space was more valuable going forward, even without Dwight. If you're not sold on TRob and you can spin him into a probable mid-1st in 2014, that makes sense given the direction of the team.

We are doing what Miami did before getting the Hittles, but in a much smaller scale since we got one superstar already. You guys better start bidding goodbye to your favorite players and do not be surprised to see Mr. Lin on the trading block.
