I bought the tape of this when I was in college. I owned double clutch already and was watching it 3 times a week. I bit the bullet, got on ebay and owned that video tape. Gosh, if I had known it would be free 15 years later, I still would've made the purchase. Those two teams were unreal for me.
It sure doesn't. I'm a grown man now and i still get goose bumps watching this. This is why we all watch sports and are such enthusiastic fans. Championships like this will never be forgotten.
Also for those alive and viewing at the time, what was the general reaction to Danny Ainge/ Mario Elie?
Thanks for sharing Panda23. Brought back memories. I forgot Vernon was such an impact player. For some reason I remembered Mario Elie, Sam Cassel , Horry as Houston stars but didn't realize they came off the bench. Olajuwon is just one of my all-time favourite players. Actually he is my all-time favourite center. He elevated post play to an all new level, something that maybe we will never see again. Its a bit like Jordan for guards, you feel like you will never see that type of player again. Some of the things Olajuwon was able to do just leaves you gasping and just shaking your head in utter appreciation of his greatness.

I've seen this a million times. I own it on DVD. Nevertheless, hit play last night and threw it up on my AppleTV so my older son and wife could watch it again with me. Great memories. In related news, my younger boy wore his 1994 Clutch City shirt to school today. Probably not a coincidence.
it was dirty, but back in the day they don't fine people for that stuff. Luckily Mario didn't destroy Ainge and get suspended.
