Basically my buddy has a bet with someone where they are going to put two handpicked teams against each other on NBA2K2.

    One guy has Old Schoolers:

    PG: Isiah
    SG: Jordan
    SF: Bird
    PF: McHale
    C: Hakeem

The other guy has Gen Xers

    PG: Kidd
    SG: Kobe
    SF: KG
    PF: Duncan
    C: Shaq

I'm a huge Hakeem fan but I am wondering if McHale and Hakeem is the best PF/C combo.

    any suggestions?

I'd put Magic at PG rather than Isiah. Although it really doesn't matter either way, Gen X team wouldn't have a chance at all. The old school lineup is just too much. (Although in the old school lineup, I'd personally put in Barkley at PF, but I'm a little biased, he's one of my favorite players of all time.)

The time frame is also different. The old school players are drawn from those who dominated for nearly two decades. The Xers are really stars who came into prime in the last five years.

That's a fair statement. The players should be drawn from the same time they were all in their primes, that does make it more balanced...

    First.....get NBA2k3 man!

    Then...your lineup looks fine.
Make sure to turn the difficulty level to All Star!!! Enjoy!!!

I'm pretty sure the legends will win...

NBA 2K3 was very nice to Dream. He is easily among the best characters on the whole game, he'll give you fits if you play against the 80s West team.

Then again, Moses & Clyde are pretty awesome on the game, too.

Sega must have a lot of Rockets fans on their staff. :D

Can you play rockets 95 vs. Rockets 94? That would be sweet.

Moses was one of the best EVER in NBA history, not just Rockets history. You don't have to be a Rockets fan to know this.

I have played against a Gen Xer with the same lineups, except I had Magic at the point and Isiah on the bench and won easily (by over 20 points)

The old school team has a better player at every position(Duncan-McHale would have been interesting. I wonder how Duncan would have played the man of a thousand moves)...they would have won.

Maybe you should play the original Dream Team vs. the past Olympic's Dream Team.
If Dream Team 1 didn't win by 30 I would be shocked!

I would have to go with old school's team also.

    To much scoring and smarts.

Shaq would be fouled out fast and Kidd is not fast enough for Isiah or Jordan.

Bird as the primary 3 pt shooter is awesome with Hakeem and McHale passing out. and Isiah penetrating dishing off to Jordan for a dunk.
