Pop was wise enough to let OKC win the Western Conference regular season and let most of his starters rest with fake injuries. If McHale can do that, it would help Harden. Knowing the style of McHale, he'll play Harden until he really can't play.
so which team is better? pacers with harden instead of george? or rockets with george instead of harden?
The Pacers don't take Miami to 2-2 with Harden, and the Rockets are definitely worse with George. So neither, they are both better fits in their current teams.
This is so true. Don't know why people can't see this. Both are perfect fits for their respective teams.
We used to have Paul George on the Rockets. His name was Trevor Ariza. You must be new here. NSFW language <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-tygpWwu6Is?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
How can someone supposedly knowledgeable and been around as long as you have compare Paul George to Trevor Ariza with a straight face? Comparing Ariza to George is like comparing Wesley Matthews to James Harden.
Tough question. I don't have an answer. The Rockets without Harden and with George would be a completely different team, all the starters would play a completely different role, the game plan would be different. Nobody know exactly it would play out. One thing I like though, in that scenario, Lin would be the real PG.
I dunno putting harden on the pacers IMO would make them an instant favorite to beat Miami. Harden not only averages about 10 more points than George but also would make the pacers a more offensive threat. Plus James wouldn't have to be the main guy and would have better talent around him. That should also make his defense better, people forget that James was a pretty good defensive player in okc. I remember a number of games where he defended Kobe beautifully.
sorry i just don't see it. if you plug Harden into the Pacers team, because of the pace and the other scoring options available, he would not average any where near the number of touches and shots as he did this year as a Rocket. If you substituted George for Harden, who will guard Lebron? Lance Stephenson? Harden will get slaughtered by Lebron. Also for some reason, Harden have a tendency of being completely shut down by elite long athletic perimeter defenders, I don't see Harden fairing too well with Lebron guarding him.
I know, but the 2009 - 2010 season the Rockets has a completely different squad. And we won 3 more games this season comparing to that season. With George's numbers are slightly better than Ariza, it is realistic we could have won as many games with George replacing Harden. No one knows for sure.
Harden is a better fit for the Rockets. George is a better fit for the Pacers. Both teams and their fans should be completely, 100% content with who they have.
Harden played really well against lebron the last time we played the heat. In fact he stymied lebron in the fourth quarter and single handedly kept the rockets in the game. So i don't believe he'd get "slaughtered". Harden has shown the ability in OKC to be a real playmaker and difference maker when he plays with other talented players around him. This season he was the MAN so he did everything by himself. And i disagree with him being shut down by athletic defenders. Harden faced the other team's best defender every night, saw double/triple teams but still managed to score 26 a game. Tell me does paul George get many double teams? If he did his team mates would roast the other team. The same can't be said about the rockets. Harden's options were a subpar shooter (lin), a streaky shooter (parsons), and a offensively limited big man (asik)
Pure homerism Paul George is CLEARLY a better overall polished basketball player at this point. Even if Harden is a better offensive player, the gap defensively demolishes any debate. Some of you are gettin ridiculous with homerism
Not really, take a visit to the RealGM Player comparison boards and you will find a lot of people taking Harden over George.
