For those of you who listen to the Rockets games using that NBA Audio Pass or whatever the heck they call it, 1) is there any lag between it and the live game? If so, how bad is the lag? 2) is the connection reliable or do you get dropped every other minute? ------------------ A friend of mine graduated from law school in May, and he's had a heck of a time finding work....He might be a moron, though. D0D, check out sportsterminal.com They provide audio. Just found the site today (Thanx Mango) ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
I have a dial up account and the quality is pretty good. I have only used it for one game so far, and it performed well. The only reason that it would cut out was when I tried to load other web pages at the same time that I was listening (dial up couldn't handle it). The only thing that annoyed me was that there were no commercials. That may sound strange, but during the commercials the audio goes silent which is strange because it "sounds" like it is cutting out. As for lags, I wouldn't know. The reason I bought the audio pass was because I don't have other means of listening or watching the games. It was ahead of the NBA live stats and Yahoo Sports live stats. ------------------
The lag is the same as KPRC had. ------------------ Cuttino Mobley Online vote.cuttino-mobley.com Cuttino and Steve for 2001 All-Star Team
No they'll close it during the game. ------------------ Cuttino Mobley Online vote.cuttino-mobley.com Cuttino and Steve for 2001 All-Star Team
Yeah DoD... I've been using it for two years... The lag is about the same as KPRC was/is... But I think it's extrememly reliable, and the sound is clean. I actually had some trouble with the sound coming out of KPRC... But anyway.... Also, anyone who wants to listen to the games can log on using my account... I've been giving out the name and password on the ClutchChat.... I won't here but if you show up tonight I'll give it to you... ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain - Remember, A Vote For Nader Is A Vote For Bush... That's how I got to listen, thanks DarkHorse for saving me $30. ------------------ Cuttino Mobley Online vote.cuttino-mobley.com Cuttino and Steve for 2001 All-Star Team [This message has been edited by FrancisFan (edited November 04, 2000).]
I got the Audio Pass and I am dissapointed in the quality. I have a dial-up connection and i only get abuot 20 seconds out of every 4 minuytes. It sucks... waste of my cash for sure. ------------------ Langhi has got to still be pissed that Vandy didn't get into the big dance.
For those of you reading this and thinking about spending dollars on the Audio pass, don't do it. You can get the Rocket broadcasts over the Internet for free from www.sportsterminal.com. You have to register there, but the registration is free and takes about 5 minutes. The window that pops up with the audio player has something about NBA Audio Pass in it. So why pay $30 when you can get it for free and legally! You guys can thank Mango for finding the sportsterminal.com website. ------------------ A friend of mine graduated from law school in May, and he's had a heck of a time finding work....He might be a moron, though.
