I personally feel like DH is in his PRIME right now. He could improve his FT% and maybe get a slightly better post game with regards to a jump hook etc. But I think what you see is what you get right now.

That said, don't judge his play from last year as he came back early from being injured. It was his WORST year in the league and he was 3rd team All NBA.

DH will get back to normal and be a huge force in the NBA on BOTH ends of the court for a number of years to come.

Many of you think Howard and Asik front court won't work. But I think if Mchale teaches Howard all his knows as a power forward and finds a way how to play them together, it might work.

You never know how long ones body will last. Look at how long Kevin Willis and Mutombo gutted it out productively.

He makes it look like a Tonka "my first bench press" for toddlers.

He took Stan Van Gundy out, he's mentally tough. McGrady couldn't play with injuries. Dwight led the league in rebounding with two injuries...She-Mac he is not.

So you're so sad and pathetic all you can do is call me names and not just admit that Asik isn't without injury history. This is Dwight's only year of injury problems and he played BETTER than Asik hurt.

    Got anything better brah?

I think Howard will be fine, sure he'll never become that dominant #1 center in the league, but he'll be in the top 3.

IMO part of the problem D12 was having was his coach not knowing how to utilize him. Once they got a feel for each other (too late in the season) his numbers and consistency improved

IMO, IF we somehow acquire Dwight Howard, we need to figure out how to keep Omer Asik. PERIOD.

Whether Rockets team leadership can pair them battering ram style or use them one at a time to keep the pressure on the opposing team, they would be highly effective. IMO.

No way. Dwight was hurt this year and it takes time for surgeries to heal 100%. Dwight is only 28..you aren’t on the decline that young.

Howard was injured and he still was an ALL STAR, led the league in rebounding.

I think Howard will be healthy and have a monster breakout year this year.

If he comes to Houston under the tutelage of two Hall of Fame big men in McHale and Olajuwon, I think he can improve his post game.

Furthermore, I think the Houston organization and players will help Howard mature mentally as a player. I think he can focus on getting better as a player in Houston, away from the distractions of LA.

Overall, I think Howard can improve as a player given the right situation in Houston. His best years are ahead of him NOT behind him.

If he signs here, I don't see him and Asik playing a lot of minutes together but have Asik spell him might be very beneficial to his health. That could be big in preventing his decline from happening so soon. If he gets healthy he'll be a force, that's for sure.

When got two very capable defensive big men. They don't need to worry about fouling as much. They can really go after the blocks, like Asik did coming off the bench in Chicago.

We also start with both Asik and Dwight then stagger their minutes along the way... pretty much same with what we did with lin and harden during Christmas... this way we wont have any defensive lapses along the way... only question is who will finish games? Asik, Dwight? both? well..... maybe not both hehehehe

I guess it really depends on match-ups. With a team like Memphis they could both play together a lot more.

Usually, I think they could probably both start the game and 2nd half.
Probably rest Asik last 4min. of the 3rd and first 4min. of the 4th. Let Asik play from 8min. mark to 2min. mark in the 4th (avoids hack-a-Dwight). Howard can anchor the center in the last 2 minutes. Play the Twin Towers if we'll protecting a lead.

Howard really needs to improve his FTs. He shot 67.1% his rookie season, he's a career 57.7 free throw shooter. Last season he shot 49.2%. I think Dwight needs to get it over 60% if he want to play down the stretch.

It would be a short window, but it would still be a window.

He may be on decline but he was on top of mt everest so he has a long way to go before he hits bottom.

A.McDyess, M.Camby, D.Mutombo and J.Howard have played till almost, or past age 40, it is the position they play. You really can't compare TMac to Dwight because it is easier on the body as a center than as a PG/G/SF. Dwight played pain most of the Lakers season. I take a Dwight over Asik, 1/2 over Hibbert. You leave Dwight 1 on 1, its going to be FT, or FG.
