I do remember Harden visibly shaking his head after one of Sampson's out-of-timeout end-of-game plays during McHale's absence where Harden missed a jumper and we lost the game. Anyone have the video of this?
Not surprising since Sampson is the defensive cordinator and Harden hates anything related to defense jokes aside, Sampson seem to be the drillmaster of the staff, so it's likely that he would be the less liked coach.
We are a well oiled machine except in the defensive department and maybe 3 pt shooting droughts and stagnant offense in the clutch so some guys always want to rip that apart understandable
Probably BS but I wouldn't rule it out completely. Sampson strikes me as someone who would say it like it is. And sometimes Harden took ill advised shots. Just because Harden is the best player on the team doesn't mean he can't be stupid sometimes. I also remember Sampson talking to Lin all the time and Asik and Dmo but never really Harden. Doesn't mean sshi t but interesting coincidence or not. The other side is Sampson is looking for a head coaching job. He will probably get one and if he does to suggest he was gone anyway is just BS because we just won't know.
Yup... maybe but he is saying the players hate him... At least most of players I read from it which is highly unlikely unless there is a substantial reason for them to feel that way.
Didn't J.Lin spoke highly of Sampson?!?!?! I believe he said he was going to be missed, ofc a lot of CFs are saying we were missing a PG this past season. When McHale missed from Nov. 10 to Dec. 12, Harden's production remained the same, so I think this is someone's fantasizing.
At his exit interview, I remember someone asked Lin what he thought about Sampson, he hesitated and said something like "brilliant basketball mind" twice and "he knows what he's doing." Dunno if that meant anything.
Sampson was the one talking to Harden before he took the game winning shot against San Antonio as well... Rather true or not I would only be worried if Harden had trouble with the head coach and not the assistant.

Yeah, I remember this as well. At the time I remember thinking why wasn't Finch drawing up a play instead of Kelvin.
Sampson strikes me as a no nonsense guy who wants guys to play the right way. He's kinda like JVG, so no surprise Harden wouldn't like him. Lots of players don't like coaches, this is nothing new, doesn't mean the player or the coach is in the right.
