I think GM's would care about demanding a trade, faking injuries and building a culture. The best bet to win a title is to give yourself multiple chances and not aim for 2-year prime and hope everything clicks and goes right in those two years. 2013 Lakers are good example. You won't have one the best 3 point shooting roster teams ever shooting well every playoffs. That's why you go with a player who is the only one in NBA history named NBA first team in 3 different decades, was statistically better in his prime than Hakeem and is still the best big man in the NBA at 37. Hakeem was mediocre at 37. 1. Duncan 2. Shaq 3. Hakeem
Again, you are wrong. Yes the team accused Hakeem of faking an injury. That is far different than Hakeem actually faking an injury. The fact that you would choose to believe the same team that cleared a still injured Ralph Sampson to play causing greater damage to his knee which is what the team wanted sits in with your claim. The team may have been trying to do the same thing to Hakeem.
This almost feels LOF worthy my man. Your points aren't even accurate, must be over there drinking some good juice cause I have no idea where your getting your numbers. Build a culture you said right? Olajuwon is the reason why we are and say Clutch City. Why do you keep ranting about Olajuwon being good for 2 years? Olajuwon always was the model of consistency as a player. In his first dozen seasons, he averaged at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks, finishing his 17 years with the Rockets and final season with the Toronto Raptors with 21.8 point, 11.1 rebound and 3.1 block averages. Olajuwon dominated every center in the league during his era for 10 plus years. We all know who the best was back then but excluding MJ guess who was next in line? Mr. Olajuwon!
Parker has been the best player on the Spurs for a while now, in fact Pop reworked the whole offense 2 years ago after Memphis cleaned them out to run high pace outside-in off Parker's back instead of inside-out off Duncan's.
lmao wtf did I just read? 2-year prime? faking injuries? lol What culture did Tim Duncan create? Cause it seems to me SAS culture since Duncan came in the league was molded by Robinson & Pop. I love how people talk about how great Duncan is as a leader, yet he leads Team USA to 3 losses and and a Bronze... come on Duncan is great but Olajuwon is greater.
Duncan is great and definitely going to the HOF, but is not better than Hakeem. Hakeem is the only player to win MVP, DPOY and MVP Finals. and for the people that thinks rings are the only measurement, do you think Mark Madsen is better than Malone??
I'll elaborate more on a post I wrote earlier. No MVP player in their prime never has and probably never will, dominate another MVP in also in their prime like Dream did to Robinson. I've seen Duncan dominated, or at least outplayed, many times. Like someone posted earlier, against much weaker competition. For instance, Stat went off for over 40 against the Spurs multiple times, even in the playoffs! How many times did Ewing, Shaq, Robinson, Alonzo go off for over 40 against dream? One time. in a non playoff game. (Robinson 40 exactly) One time in ALL those games against HOF greats. Also, throw in Malone and Barkley, Malone did it once. So that's 2 times against 5 HOF greats. Dream put 40 on all of them except Shaq, MULTIPLE times. Dream didn't shy away from the best, he relished the opportunity to play/guard the best. When he did, he outplayed & sometimes dominated them regularly and I think that's the biggest factor between the two.
The needs of the Real Rockets fans out weigh the needs of the fake fans. I have been and always will your 99er

Any objective people would know that Hakeem is the better individual player and Duncan is a winning machine. Both are great. Any attempts to claim who is better and who is not are disrepectful and futile.
Great video post. Brings back memories. Lakers fan from LA...sorry. But I was a kid and asked my dad why Olajuwon was so mean when I was watching that game...haha. Funny that Akeem (at the time) was taken down by the ref...you don't see that anymore. Ironically, with this thread, maybe Joey Crawford was trying to do the same when he challenged Tim Duncan to a fight a few years back.
If you are to ask Hakeem or Duncan who is the better player between the two, they would genuinely say the other one is.
Oh sweet, someone on this thread who knows basketball . Too bad Steve Francis didn't pan out like Parker. The mistake the rockets did that ruined dream was getting Pippen and making him the highest paid rocket. Could have rebuilt with some younger players .
