Trades should never be evaluated as:

The player(s) you are giving up VS. the player(s) you are getting.

    It should always be:

Your team before the trade VS. your team after the trade.

The object is to make a championship team, not collect talent, so discussing who is better between Harden & Griffin is not the most important issue.

Being such a ball stopper and constantly playing hero ball, Harden's game is detrimental to a number of competent players the Rockets have now.

Great players make other players better, not worse.

Still, Griffin is one of the few players I would even think about trading Harden for.

All you have to do is run the floor, throw the ball near the basket and Griffin will dunk it. In contrast, Harden hasn't shown the ability or willingness to play off others. You can not have a player dominate the ball so much. It's inevitable you will lose in the playoffs. That's why it was so easy to predict the Lakers were going to lose the past few seasons because their shot distribution was so lopsided with Kobe. That's not a blame on the coaching either. McHale always emphasizes moving the ball, but Harden doesn't listen. It's the same way Kobe always overrules whatever coach the Lakers get and plays like he wants, although I do think Harden improved his passing & unselfishness a little bit from the beginning of the season to the end.

If the team is going to give the ball to one player frequently, it should be Lin. He can get loose more frequently, has better speed and quickness with the ball & has a much higher motor than Harden. Nobody can say that strategy is bad either because we never saw them adopt it last season. It would lead to more even shot distribution.

This! Pretty good moves if we could polish every peace of that puzzle, and all of them would work. Also we could take better player with first pick and instantly trade him for Oladipo + cash, picks or players. What about Delfino and DMo in that roster? Varejao and DMo could be 2nd center when Howard rest. ;)

Even for a thread that begs for ridiculous posts, this is a little much.

Did someone seriously made an argument for trading Harden(Who by the way should be considered the number one shooting guard in the world going into next season) for BLAKE MUTHA FREAKING GRIFFIN?! Are you out of your mind?

Last summer, I made a thread about Chandler Parsons playing on the 2016 USA Olympics team in Rio (& you can look it up) which was widely mocked & ridiculed.

Now he has a tryout among 25 players to make the team....

I schooled everybody then and I'm schooling everybody now.

Suppose we strike out on Paul and Howard and we need to wait two more seasons until the Love and LMA sweepstakes begin. We certainly want to be competitive in the mean time, but don't want to eliminate our chances when those big name power forwards hit the market.

    I propose two moves:

1.) Waive Delfino/Garcia and sign Andrew Bynum to a 2 year maximum contract with performance incentives or a non guaranteed 2nd year.

    2.) Three way trade:

    To Boston:
    Milsap (SnT from Utah)

    To Utah:
    Jeremy Lin

    To Houston:
    Kevin Garnett

The Rockets will have loaded up for a nice two year run, but will not eliminate their options for 2015:

    Beverly / Brooks (or Llull)
    Harden / Anderson
    Parsons /
    Garnett / Bynum
    Bynum / Asik

Note - Boston is over the apron, so there is some difficulty in the Sign and Trade, however Pierce might be bought out.

I guess Bynum for 2 years would be a fair gamble.

But that's a very interesting idea.

If that doesn't work, why not both KG and Pierce? Both are slipping but still very good. Pierce could be fully absorbed into the cap space in a separate trade, then execute that trade for Garnett. I imagine it would take more than Lin (Millsap), it would probably cost some picks / prospects.
But I think a Beverley/Harden/Pierce/KG/Asik lineup with Parsons off the bench would be worth it. That team would be a legit contender for a year or two.

Garnett has a No-Trade Clause. He probably wants to retire as a Celtic.

Also, while you're at it, you should change your sig. It kind of destroys your credibility on proposing random trades in this thread, since there is stuff in your sig that is forbidden by the CBA.
