Sure, T-Mac was a better player at age 23 than Harden. He had also been in the league for 5 seasons before that year, and had been a starter for 3 seasons. Compare that to Harden, who had only been in the league for 3 seasons and was never a starter before last year.

It will be more comparable once we see what James does next season and the year after that.

Sad to see a legit top 5 player in the league literally crash and burn...

This is the example of how someone with a world of talent just got by with talent...If he had the ruthlessness of Kobe, and fearlessness of a Paul Pierce, TMAC wouldve still be leading a team in the NBA...

    An underrated passer,
Terrific player in the open court,
    Excellent post player,
    Explosive wing player,
    and Thunderous dunker...

That is what we had the privilege of seeing with Tracy McGrady...and then his body and mind gave out on him...

This Spurs TMAC is just a reinvention of the shell that TMAC used to be. I wish him the best, and would be happy for him if he won it all with the Spurs...

Individually Harden will never I never peak at McGrady's level.

He will probably win more. Many reasons for that, better system, better players, better front office, and maybe maybe a better winner.

But guys need to forgive and let go, Hakeem Olajuwon quit on the Rockets and wanted a trade, tinman and his likes should try to remember this bit of Rockets history!

Sometimes you're just unlucky and to discredit his entire time with the Rockets is ridiculous, he put everything into the team during the playoffs, just couldn't win.

True. With this knowledge you could argue his biggest critics were his biggest fans. They expected him to carry an injured yao and a bunch of old players/scrubs each game for 48 minutes.

That or maybe david wesley really was a beast.

At 23 TMac may have been better than Harden currently is due to athleticism, but I'm betting on Harden having the longer prime years.

    TMac >>> Harden (at 23)

    McGrady <<<<<<< Harden (at 32)

would you hesitate to offer a prime t-mac a max contract when he was 23?

would you have traded klay thompson for tracy mcgrady when he was 23?

would you have traded bradley beal for tracy mcgrady when he was 23?

    /end of discussion.

I can now see why he developed that chronic disc problem. Sigh.

But, really, it's not hard for Harden to have a career Tmac had in terms of achievements. So what's the point?

A backhanded-compliment from Tinman? I'll take it and I'm crying.

That's because T-Mac didn't like to play fast. He preferred to hold the ball one-handed at the top of the key to survey his options

Harden projects as the one to have the better overall career.

If only because we've already seen the totality of TMac's utterly disappointing one. What a tragedy.

One of my favorite players of all time! The Blue Jersey Magic TMAC is the most amazing players to watch!

True, T-Mac maybe the better player but Harden will probably win more because he plays with him.
