I was going to report him as a troll, but I'm scared he might actually believe what he's saying.

You can argue that Harden is a better 2 guard than Griffin is a power forward...it's debatable. But from a marketability standpoint, Griffin is probably second to none. So from a team revenue standpoint, there's no way the Clippers would take Harden for Griffin. As I understand it, the Rockets don't even sell out the Toyota Center for most regular season games. Griffin has done the impossible, he's taken the most sorry franchise in the history of American sports and turned them into one of the most popular teams in the league. And Toyota Center probably was sold out when the Clippers came to town...sounds like a bizzaro world scenario, but Blake is very valuable.

Stephen A. Smith also said the Clippers were going to trade Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Eric Bledsoe for Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Doc Rivers. I think he made that one up on the spot when he was on the air. Maybe his teleprompter went out or something.

how about Parsons/Trob/Asik for Anderson Varejao and the #1 pick

The reason we do it is to free up cap space to sign D. Howard and Andre Igoudala... and with the number one pick we take Victor Oladipo to lead our second unit and eventually replace Igoudala's starting spot

    Howard
    Varejao
    Igoudala
    Harden
    Lin

    TJones
    Oladipo
    Beverly

That is a top 3 rebounding team and top five defense team with a solid rotation and star power... Igoudala's contract would have to be back loaded similar to Asik's for this to work i believe

For the Cavs its a no brainer this move guarantees they make playoffs in the east maybe even top 5 in east

Blake is now both super overrated and underrated at the same time, so I guess he would fit right in with Jeremy Lin ;)

The Harden-Griffin trade idea ended up being less whacky than some of the Griffin evaluations that followed. :p

Sarcasm? Harden is arguably a top 10 player... Griffin isn't a top 20 player, maybe you can argue he is a top 30 player. Hell, you could probably even argue if Griffin is a max player. If you want media attention and sell tickets you get Lin...

That doesn't mean Blake is as good at his position as Harden is at his... Take Chris Paul off that team and see where they would rank then.

So your saying Blake is just as good at his position as Westbrook is at his...

Short version of a post of mine from earlier.....

    CP3 /Bev
    Harden/2nd round pick
    Parsons/Garcia
    D.West/Jones
    Howard/T.O.

I think with Moreyball and a tweaking of the bench, ala MIA, this could be an option and that starting fuve is better than any team in the NBA....

Blake's more like a 10-20 player where Harden's more like a 5-10, so no I wouldn't trade them strait up, but it's not really as far as you'd think either. the difference between Lebron to Durant is pretty big, and the difference between Durant to everyone else is even bigger, the difference between Harden and Griffin isn't nearly as big.

Also, Winshare, while certainly influenced by teammates to an extend, seem to remain relatively consistent IMHO as long as the player remain in similar shape / role.

Look no further than Lebron James' , who's last 3 year in Cleveland's WS/48 is a literal mirror image of his 3 years in Miami. and you can't possibly argue that he had the same supporting cast.

Wade in comparison, is also fairly steady on a rate basis (though I guess you could argue that's in spite of him being older and more hurting.) in the 2 years before the trade and the 3 since (in 2007-08 he was really hurt so I'm discounting that a bit.)

Also, despite playing on great teams, Kendrick Perkin's Winshare is still utterly horrific, same for Norris Cole. (though he's in a smaller role.)

I think teams influence Winshare to an extend for sure, but it rarely changes the player's outlook completely. it might effect more among those slightly above average role players a bit more, like say Mario Chalmers, but it's not going to make a bad player look good to be on a great team or a great player look bad by being on the bad one... at least assuming he plays at roughly the same level... usually.

It's not a perfect stats, but it's the closest thing publicly avalible to make a realistic judgment of a players' relative contribution

Trades that involve James Harden should be banned for the next couple years. Simply ain't happening. Nobody with a better player than Harden is going to trade that player to us. And we aren't trading Harden for a player that is just as good or possibly not quite as good as him. Not only that but trading Harden would send the clear message to other potential superstar top 10 type players that if they sign here we would trade them in a heartbeat if we thought we could get somebody better.

It's a waste of bandwidth, a waste of our time, and you are bringing down the quality the board discussing such nonsense.
