Jlin is having fun. Take it easy on the diving board. By the way...... http://www.latinospost.com/articles/19581/20130520/discover-jeremy-lins-tattoo-true-photos.htm
No, I was saying that basic history classes taught at American schools and the American media doesn't give proper respect and acknowledgement to the Japanese Internment. Read a book like David Mura's "Where the Body Meets Memory", and you'll see how even Japanese Americans willfully tried to forget their own history out of shame and socio-economic aspirations. LOL. Who are these "Hollywood regulars" that you speak of? I want names. I don't think you know what the term "indie film" means. The movie also received a lot of public funds from government organizations like the NEA. Again, do you even look at your own research? The IMDB page states that this movie made about $3000 in its opening weekend after opening on TWO screens. You're essentially trying to argue that, nuh uh, I'm totally wrong because besides the typical Hollywood shlock movie that I mentioned, there was this indie $3000-grossing Japanese-American project that was released about 16 years ago. Very convincing.
Indie flicks don't count. They don't have Hollywood backing and aren't made from Hollywood money. Hollywood basically doesn't care about them unless they start winning awards at Sundance, Cannes, etc. Then maybe if they're lucky some distribution company will cut a deal, most likely straight to DVD. Otherwise distribution is done independently too.
I'm a little uncomfortable in seeing this doc. I wonder if non Asians will be turned off by the race card.
People need to accept the fact that Lin, like many Asian Americans, had to overcome a lot of harmful stereotypes due to his race. Just pretending that this doesn't exist makes you part of the problem.
95, I saw the Lin movie. It was a part of it, but I don't think it dominated the movie. It would have sucked if that's all we heard about it (just like the crap Lin threads made by some crap fans)
Looks like Lin got an endorsement with Gatorade. <iframe width="590" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EqiQ7XKPWUc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
