    Can somebody explain WHY there is a play in game for the NCAA tournament? Is another game really necessary to determine who the Longhorns' sacrificial lamb will be?

    Because when the Mountain West split off from the WAC a few years back, the NCAA, in all their wisdom, decided to allow one more automatic bid <B>without</B> taking away one of the at-large bids.

    Gawd, just move the SWAC or the Horizon conference down to Division II or something...
