Everyone on the voice so far has been worlds better than Candice, although she deserved to win American Idol once the 3rd place finisher went home(which I thought wasn't the right decision).
i think it's fair to say without ever having watched the voice that you have no clue what you're talking about.
Strange that it was the worst year ever for Idol, but the the final five singers were fantastic. Candice may be my all time favorite from American Idol. She can sing anything effortlessly. The problem with Idol is that they stretch the show out to two hours and the judges use up about 75% of the time with their stupid comments. I don't tune in to see any of the judges, I just want to hear the singers. I now record all the shows and just fast forward past all the judges comments and the commercials. I can watch the entire two hour show in about 40 minutes.
i do the exact same thing. i've also wondered for 3 seasons why they are trying to shove jimmy iovine down our throats. nobody cares about him.
Idol is on the ropes. It's getting killed by The Voice in ratings. Idol's ratings have been on a long lasting decline. I really think the poor judge selections have killed people's enjoyment of Idol. Look at the judges on The Voice, they are all pretty good and they are BIG names that are current, like Usher, Shakira, and Adam Levine. Idol's judges are all has-beens like Mariah or untalented hacks like Nicki Minaj. What the hell does Nicki know about singing? Randy Jackson has turned into a satire of himself, he's more known for saying "yo dawg" than actually levying out criticism. I also think people are getting tired of Seacrest, or maybe that's just me. Then again I think the entire format of Idol is dull now. People are tired of the formula after over a decade of it. The Voice's format is different and refreshing, that's why people are tuning into it now.
While Idol's ratings are down, they are not getting killed in the ratings by The Voice. For example, Idol scored a higher number of viewers the week of May 8 and also May 15, although you would expect May 15 to have more viewers since it was the finale. In my opinion, Seacrest is the one indispensable person on that show. He is very good at what he does and seeing him do it live is very impressive.
I liked Keith Urban for his genuine, relatively unforced humor. And he's pretty smart musically. But he's not overly critical, so he needs to be balanced on the show. Sadly, he wasn't Surprisingly, I liked Nikki until the last few weeks of the show. She was totallly off sometimes with who she liked. But when she was mad / heavily critical, she was almost always right. And she was the only one willing to really be critical. The show needed that "Simon" type of person
i don't have to. it's simply not possible for somebody, much less several people, to be "world's better" than her.
