Nice one. The only cure for Linsanity is to play the Miami Heat. Only defend Lin from stupid baseless attacks. If they have merit, I don't really care. I'm more interested in the workings of the CBA and the Howard trade to be honest. I'm on here a lot because I'm researching a paper on "The Phenomena of Lin Only Haters: their fears and insecurities".

Difference is Lin is a legitimate starting NBA point guard even if if you consider him a borderline starter, Tebow hasn't shown he's a starting NFL quarterback. Sure there was a indie film and an interview on 60 minutes, but ESPN has stopped caring about Lin since he left New York. Tebow on the other hand is still half of Sportscenter's coverage as a 4th string player.
OP, even if Conley has been underachieving offensively until now, he has always been one of the best defenders at his position and Conley's upside is higher than Lin's. I have no doubt Lin will get better next season but even before the playoffs, I would have swapped Lin for Conley straight up.
Tebow gets his hype from college and his outspoken faith, Lin gets his by being a major reason two teams get into the playoffs. So, we're talking about his college town here. I don't think Boston have many crazed fans for Lin; not in the Bay Area either.
Conley has been in the league for 6 years as a heavy minute player and Lin only 2 years in playing major minutes. Conley is a top 3 defensive PG in the NBA and a player who benefited by having a scorer leave which gave him more opportunity. We are comparing a player in his prime to a player who is in his 2nd year as a starter or a heavy minute player. Did you know Lin has more scoring points than Conley in his 2nd and 3rd year? Conley, finished product and Lin, unfinished product.
Stop making excuses. Lin is a scrub and nothing else matters. He proved this in the 1.5 games he played in the playoffs injury free. Trade him for a 2nd rounder to the bobcats so we can be free of his terrible contract and start Beverly next season. Bring back Toney Douglas on the minimum to back him up, then we can have their high energy defense the whole game.
Give Lin and Harden the offseason to figure out the backcourt duties. Hopefully next season we will see Lin facilitate the majority of the offense and allow harden a lot more freedom to focus on scoring. It's great that they can both facilitate but Harden seemed to run out of gas this season since he was doing so much.
Hey now. Coming from NY, Lin is the only reason why I'm following the rockets to begin with. Btw, we're not rocket fans. We're rocket followers. We're here for one reason only and it's because of one player. Its an insult to the original rocket fans. Just like when the Jets forums got inundated with Tebow maniacs, it really pissed them off too. Just like when my beloved Giant forums got flooded with Eli Manning lunatics. Anyone who puts the player above the team is no fan. This is all opinion, but i cringe whenever Lin shoots or when he's in the open floor. His first step and speed is pretty impressive, but when he's trying to make a tough shot in traffic, or spot up shoot, it's difficult to watch sometimes. And it certainly doesn't do him any favors to appease his critics. My family are huge Lin fans, but even my 65 year old dad said that Lin plays out of control.
Tebow fans are a different kind of crazy. Every Tebow article has 5000+ comments which = more $$ for espn. Sure, us Lin fans have our own nut jobs but we're still nowhere close to being as loony as Tebow fan boys.
People are just making knee jerk reactions base on baseless and borderline idiotic comments. Conley has been in the league longer than Lin, he has been healthy, he has better upgrades on teammates than Rox, he is the ball handler distributor of the ball, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY he doesn't have to go against Westbroook. Get real people. If there is an upgrade offseason for our PG like someone named CP3, I would trade them in a heartbeat. However, until we get that we are in no better position. Lin is capable of what he is doing at the 1 position. Fans often forget this is a team sport, there are alot of elements going on in a game besides one player. simply put rox lost as a team from coaching staff to the players.
