Don't try and twist what this is.. MSM was his lapdog until this week.. Did you notice they all started reporting against Obama after the AP report came out? Rule here.. don't bite the hands that feed you.. once they realized they were also victims.. they jumped ship. So yes you can have it both ways.. until the truth comes out.
Let me read it, now. Then I'll let you know. I think part of the article is interesting and part of it is kind of a side point. Yes the administration should ideally go to court to get the records, but there was already the loophole that allows them not to have to do that in cases like these. I'm probably against that loophole being allowed, but since it is allowed, I won't fault this administration for using it. I also agree that the AP did the right thing in not releasing the story immediately, but that part is a side issue. The point is how did they find the information that gave them the story to begin with. That leak is the one that needs to be discovered and that is the reason for the govt. going after the phone records of AP personnel. The fact that the AP didn't release the story right away and waited until it was okay doesn't change the fact that somebody leaked classified information to reporters. I applaud the AP reporters for not giving up their source. I don't think they should. But I understand that if they don't, the govt. will do whatever they can within their power to find out who the leak was. That being said I would probably support legislation to close the loophole which allows the govt. not always need a court order to get the information.
Will the main stream liberal press finally turn on Obama and start doing their job? Somehow I doubt it.
Some of them may just....Obama just announced a resignation of a top IRS executive so there is political heat. The majority of the left leaning press loves Obama, but fock with their inner circle and Obama will make a big mistake going forward...
I'm not sure why anyone is surprised. Though legal, this is pretty much the equivalent of taking a dump on the constitution, and powerful groups/individuals, whether in government or business (though most are usually in both), constantly threaten the constitution. It's a shame that the most vocal critics of this abuse of press freedom had absolutely nothing bad to say when the Bush Administration implemented this sort of thing in the first place. We might not have to worry about it now. Of course, now that Obama's president, this is the end of the world and a sad day for humanity. Where were you partisan p*****s 10 years ago?
He is resigning in June. That was when his term was over anyway. He is not being fired, he is a political tool for the administration to look like they did something when they actually did nothing. In the words of Jay Carney, "That was a long time ago."
