Yep. A teams identity is very important. I personally like team like the Oakland Raiders, the Chicago Bulls, Dallas Cowboys, LA Lakers, etc.. partially because of their strong identity. A teams strong identity (sometimes) goes hand in hand with first class organization. I would like to see the Rockets maximize their look by choosing a color scheme that matches their theme. To me that means a simple color scheme that accents one strong color, in this case red. Sports are just about fun for me and an ugly uni ruins it for me. Just the way I look at it.
On the old rockets uniforms did it say Houston Or Rockets. I would like it to say Houston on the new ones.
I stick to my original suggestion.. red, pewter/OR/gold, and white. (no blue!) put those colors on those recently pictures posted and whamo, instant classic
Yeah, everyone thinks sports are all about fun, buddy (or at least they should), and yeah, I agree that blue shouldn't be a Rocket's color (or at least not an integral color). The rest of your logic is screwed up, though. If you're gonna leave cuz of their team colors, leave now.
Personally I dont like the mainstream, hightech, streaky jerseys. I like the simple ones, cause they are easy on the eyes and they give the team a better impression. I've got a great idea! How about on Yao's jersey, have his name in Chinese under his english name? Make it similar to the Vietnamese street signs in downtown
although miguels black and red was nice too. i wish they would release five to ten options and let fans and players vote on what they like. let the fans decide what it will be. ( at least we wont have clownsuits anymore)((hopefully))

I hope the Rockets do this with the new uni's 1) Get rid of that cartoonish font/typeface 2) No pinstripes 3) Go back to red as the primary color 4) Remove Blue out of the logo/uniform 5) Use Red/gold or pewter/white/grey 6) Use a block typeface. 7) Keep it simple, ala. Detroit, Seattle, or even Dallas. 8) Create a classic logo and uniform scheme that lasts.
