This looks nice and edgy -- could be a big hit.

This probably has the most potential of any sitcom NBC has introduced since Community. I actually laughed at something in the trailer, so that's a plus.

People really like and admire Michael J. Fox. I think this show will do well.

Or it'll get canceled in a month.

    Looks good.

Also nice to see some actors from The Wire getting some work :)

This looks good and I like MJF as a talent, but I never understood the overdone admiration for someone who advocates for curing his own disease.

That's something any self-interested person would do.

Until the Commission lays up on sex and cursing, scripted sitcoms will be a crap-shoot. It also has that improv feel, and none of the Curbed copies: including that horrific Reiser show, have ever done well. But Fox has proved competent on another high profile series, so this is probably the best bet NBC can make.

Most of us don't suffer from incurable diseases, and celebrities are more sympathetic because we admire and want to emulate them (suppress the Hollywood hate for a sec and remember when most of them were kings, generals, orators or inventors). They also draw more dollars and support to research and treatment for illnesses that kill millions of people. Some of you libertarians are just warped.

I know Michael J. Fox obviously approved and maybe even participated in the writing, but it still feels bad to make jokes about a disease...

I'm just saying, he didn't start being an advocate until it would help him personally.

Nothing wrong with that. Nothing admirable about it either.

This. With that said, I just plain like MJF not because he's advocating or anything.

He's not making fun of the disease -- he's making fun of day to day life living with the condition.

The rolling chair goodby scene made me lol -- very rare for any new TV comedy promos.

    Huge Bonus: no laugh track.

Im sure the MAJORITY of ALL advocacy arises when its "close to home". (I've got mildly degenerative condition in my right eye. Is it supposed to be "NOW you CARE all of a sudden - where this 'concern' back in 2009?" The difference is that I can still do normal things without bringing attention to myself so no need to look like a "cause champion". But if someone does, who gives a sh**)

Still though, it DOES MATTER SOME when it happens to someone you admire or look up to. If it happened to Hakeem Olajuwon or someone like that, sorry I'd just give support even if its biased bonus sympathy points.

Yes there's that element too of "Support CELEB but Average JOE WONT get support for the same thing" But maybe through this scripted performance art MJFox can help people know how to give respect to others.

Its not like he can hide it. Will have to be a bit self-referential about it, might as well be humorous

I'm sure it will have a shaky start.
