Harden (792) kills Paul George (274) on the FT line attempts. Not even close, Harden will be picked for Team USA before George. Pacers are loaded with high flyers, if Harden was playing for Pacers instead of George. They would be right behind Heat.
ehh no need to switch when he's sticking onto the other's team best player mos of the time. What's Melo been doing so far? Tough call depends on team needs. Pacers are defensive minded they'd rather have George over Harden. George can have a good game without scoring much. Harden not so much.
It seems he was talking about Granger. George is brilliant at switching and off the ball defense. It's one of the main reasons why the Pacers recover and chase people off screens so well. Which in turn allows Hibbert to sit back and meet players at the rim. If George was a one dimensional on the ball defender, I suspect Hibbert would get exposed in pick and roll situations all the time and that team wouldn't be anywhere near elite defensively.
You are claiming a team that is defensively focused, a less talented team because they do not have strong offense. By your logic, the Rockets are equally or more talented than the Grizzlies, because the Grizzlies are merely a spot ahead of Pacers in terms of offensive efficiency.
it really depends what you are looking for in a player if you are looking for scoring and free throws, no question Harden is your man if you are looking for more of a team game, defense and you want wins, then you pick P. George
Technically that would depend on what our roster was at that point in time but in most cases it would be Harden without question. Any mistakes Harden makes these days should be improved just from him getting more experienced. Once he polishes up on those he will be a top 3 to 5 player in the league.
well, the Pacers haven't had a top 9 pick since the 1980s, and they've had some pretty good teams. Some very frustrating mediocre years too. Recently Granger, Hibbert, George and Lance Stephenson have all been major Bird steals.
according to George himself, he grew to 6'10 since entering the league. that's obviously not official data, so take it for what it's worth. that said, his pre-draft measurement without shoes is 6'7.75''. Sneakers add you 1 to 2 inches, typically. So if he grew at all since the draft, he could easily be 6'10 or very close with shoes.
This I live in indy and see a lot of Paul George great all around player but Hardens on another level and can carry a team
I love James Harden and I think he's a perfect fit for this team because we already have Parsons at SF and we haven't had a Superstar 2 guard since Clyde Drexler so it only magnifies Harden's greatness. With that said if I were building a team without bias I'd take Paul George. He's taller, more athletically gifted and most importantly plays both sides of the ball, and his scoring/playmaking ability is improving each year. For me personally it boils down to is this... I'd bet money that George's offensive game approaches closer to Harden's level before Harden's defensive game ever comes anywhere near George's. When Harden's shot is dropping and he's getting calls everything else seems to go well and he gets other players involved etc. When his shot isn't falling or he's not getting calls then it seems like he can't get anything going and tries to force the issue and cause more turnovers etc. With George he can have a bad game and shoot 3 for 14 but the defense is always there so he's still making an impact on the game. The guy can and does effectively guard 4 positions. Harden has trouble sticking with his own guy... Most recently Jodie Meeks and PJ Tucker going off for a career day come to mind.
