If Dwight comes, keep or trade Asik?

  1. Keep Asik. Make the twin towers.

You're right and he's had an elbow problem all season which also may have been the case the previous year. He won't be asked to be the man in Houston. He's also only 27 I believe. New surroundings possibly yields better results.

Sorry. I love what Omer did this season, but he's redundant if we have Dwight. You move him for help at the 4 spot or to bolster the backcourt(since Garcia will be cut in order to land Dwight). You don't just give the guy away, but he'll have to be traded.

IF we get Howard, we are in PERFECT position to get a trade done with Portland. They need a starting center, backup point guard, and front court talent.

    To Houston: Aldridge, Victor Claver
To Portland: Asik, Beverley, TRob, TJones, Houston 2014 1st

    Portland Lineup
    Lillard / Beverley
    Matthews /
    Batum /
    TJones / TRob
    Asik / Leonard

    Houston Lineup
    Lin / Llull
    Harden / Llull
    Parsons /
    Aldridge / DMo / Smith / Aldemir
    Howard / Smith / Aldemir

I think if Dwight Howard comes to Houston, we should trade him for a good power forward

Watching both the Pacers and Spurs lose their rim protection/rebounding when Hibbert/Duncan were taken out, the case for having a quality center in the game at all times is clear.

    Asik should not be traded.

Trade Asik and Brooks for L.Aldridge...That should space the floor with Howard on it

This. Worst case you try it until the trade deadline. Asik will still have fantastic trade value and you can find a PF if things aren't working out.

I really like the idea of A) having a defensive center anchor for 48 minutes and B) having the ability to go twin towers when matchups and situations dictate.

The report about Dwight wanting to play with Asik makes sense, too. There is no better way to keep them both fresh and healthy than by limiting their minutes and using both in rotation.

Getting Dwight does not mean that Asik is redundant, it simply expands out flexibility in several ways.

You aren't gonna get a straight Asik + chips for LMAldridge trade. Asik is valuable, but he's not valuable enough to swap for one of those super in-demand star stretch fours.

Having Asik allows our young group of PF's to play LESS which hides our weakness at the position. Asik would still get a lot of minutes as he would steal some of the PF' min.

Lin will be out the door a lot sooner than Asik will.
