Not a fan of his at all....AT ALL, but... I would be shocked and terribly hurt if my mom gave away my first guitar, especially if the reason was to only help herself.
Thats just sad........on many levels....money an object to a millonaire???? WTF He is entitled to his things but come on man.....that's mamma!
Reading through these comments is pretty classic. You guys are the first ones to knock an athlete for going broke, yet spending an unnecessary 450k on a second (or is it third or fourth?) home in Vegas is ok? I'm sorry but that makes no damn sense. My bet is that the same guys telling Kobe to give his mom the money would be the type of athletes to go broke as well. Good luck in life.
It's crazy. People are acting like Kobe is forcing his mom to be homeless or isn't willing to pay for her cancer treatment. What kind of mom sells their child's stuff when they refuse to give them more than $250K for a house they will probably only live in a few weeks a year.
If Kobe gave two *****s about that stuff, why isn't it at his place? I'm pretty sure he has the space to accommodate whatever he wants....
His trophy room is probably filled with other more "memorable" things. Teen Choice awards aren't exactly coveted, but I don't blame Kobe for not keeping ALL of his awards, jerseys, etc. on display in his home. That is why they were in a storage unit. I would imagine that he has some HS and pro jerseys hanging on his wall, but he probably has so many.
My question is, If it's his stuff, why is it in his mom's hands? Why didn't he just take the things away from her?
Mom's in the wrong on this one. What I find shocking is $1500 a month storage rental? She could get a small house in NV for that and just move his stuff there. Win-win.
I read another article on this and the writer had a similar question... If it's stuff why was it at her house? If he gave her the stuff they she can do what she wants with it. For the questions that have been flowing around saying you asked your mom not to sell the stuff... Then if it's your stuff then you need to take it out the house. As mom has told me, her house is not a storage unit and if I want this stuff then I need to take it with me. Basically, it's mom and he should be taking care of her and if he is doing more for his in-law then shame on him. T_Man
He takes care of his family enough, how about his mom live within his means. And who tf sells their own kid's memorabilia
Spot on... this is how people end up like that loser Scottie Quitten who had an estimated lifetime earnings of $120 Million. also **** happens in life that can completely change your fortune. Mike Tyson had a career earnings of $300-400M and he blew nearly all that at one point in time. Lucky for him he's doing well again now. Or Mike Vick for example.
He doesn't need to put them on display. If he didn't want his mom to mess with the things, he could just take them and put them away. Why did he have to sue for it?
I can't believe some people are actually saying Kobe is the ******* here. Y'all act like all mothers are saints. Those gold digging girls in their 20s will be someone's mother one day.
Maybe he is just playing it safe by getting legal action in order to have the items secured. His mom seems like kind of a b****, so my guess is that it won't be so easy as taking them from her.
So Kobe gives a bunch of treasured personal items to his mother as a gesture of how important she is to him. He obviously thought she'd cherish them. Instead, she's decided to swap them for the down payment on vacation house. Yeah. I'd be hurt too. Oh, and to those who might ask, 'How do you know he cherished those items?' the answer is 'because we're currently reading about a lawsuit over those items.'
Because she already gave them away to an auction house. Odds are he didn't know she was going to do that. At this point the best course of action is for him to file an injunction to prevent his items from being sold off.
