Can someone explain why barkley hates houston so much?

I think Barkley realized that at that point in his career, with the Rockets, he was past his prime. Or, he's just a d**k. I can understand Phoenix, but Philly? They weren't sniffing a title with Boston and Detroit in the East.

 

Barkley considered himself the star of those Philly and Phoenix teams, so there's a greater sense of responsibility and regret. He's said many times that he was well past his prime by the time he reached Houston.

 

He seems incapable of fully giving a Rockets props. "You say this Rockets team is young but that's not true!!" I remember right before game 1 he was trying so hard to discredit us. He kept his mouth shut when we took those 2 games.

 

He said biggest regret. Do you expect his biggest regret would be to not bring titles to three teams? Seems like you're grasping at straws with this example.

Also, he was past his prime with us and it hadn't been that long since we had won a title unlike Philly and Phoenix. He was one of the best players in the league in Philly and Phoenix and that probably plays into it too.

 

didn't he already openly admit he holds a grudge against the Rockets organization? Could've swore he did.

Because he did help bring Houston a title back when he was in the ass kicking business. We ran through him twice actually. Thanks Chuck!

You are definitely reaching here, Houston had just won 2 titles, and as others have said he was the star of those teams and those were his prime years.

In Houston, he was just trying to win a title more for himself as a way to cap of his amazing career.

Some of you guys are so sensitive, geez, either take some Midol or grow a pair.

 

Houston bulldozed Phoenix to go to the finals two years in a row and didn't have to face Jordan. I think it's more resentment than hate.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with a promise Les made to Barkley. If you google Barkley + Promise + Les Alexander somethin might come up. He used to talk about a promise that Les made to him that he would get him more money. Something along those lines.

 

When pippen came the only way we could get him under the luxury tax was if Barkley took a pay a cut . It is said less told him to take the pay cut and he would give him 5mil under the table .Well he didn't get his money nor a ring so that's why he's so upset

Basically Barkley hates our weather.

 

Probably didn't hurt that pippen threw him under the bus after the loss to the Lakers.

He needs to watch his mouth or les might get audited by IRS. Another thing is he got paid 9 MILLION DOLLARS HIS FINAL YEAR. We weren't winning any rings and he wasn't doing much but we gave him that money to make up for the pay cut in 98-99. There is no reason for him to hate us.
