Because the Lakers can't do a S&T due to their cap situation.

We're talking about Chris Paul and Dwight Howard and this cat right here is thinking about Chris Bosh. Chris Bosh?

Asik for chris bosh is a downgrade.... Are you kidding? Plus he's got to be one of the easiest to hate and ugliest players in the league.

I think they'd have to consider it since the the player options start the year after.

How is one player a downgrade over another when they play completely different positions?

Not sure why Bosh is so easy to hate. Not sure why that or his looks even matters.

Derp. The plan is we're also getting some guy named Dwight Howard. He's pretty good at rebounding too if you've heard of him.

lol who would be sign and trading? Both asik and bosh are under contract.

FYI i think this is a very possible scenario...assuming we have the inside track on howard.

my bad didn't realize someone was still ignorant enough to mention a sign and trade to a team over the cap.

Actually, a team that is over the salary cap technically might be able to acquire a signed-and-traded player in a sign-and-trade deal.

The new rule (which kicks in on July 1, 2013) is that a team can no longer acquire a player who is signed-and-traded in conjunction with that deal if the team's total team salary (after acquiring the player) would exceed the luxury tax "apron" (i.e., the team would then be ~$4 million above the luxury tax). Furthermore, the apron would thereafter act as a HARD CAP on that team for the entire season.

This, of course, rules out a team like the Miami Heat, making any attempt to deal Bosh for a signed-and-traded Dwight Howard impossible.

However, as has been pointed out, the Rockets could still acquire Dwight Howard in a sign-and-trade deal, as long as the Rockets do not sign-and-trade any players back to the Lakers (which they wouldn't do).

Call me dumb (I could care less) , but I don't think Bosh coming here for Asik would make us that much better. He's clearly the 3rd option on his current team and it seems like he is perfectly ok with that. He won't get more boards then Asik gets now.... Please don't Morey!!

You're trading them so the impact of losing one and adding another is worth talking about.... With bosh we'd have bottom of the league defense and gain more spacing for more money?

Dude looks like an alien, and its super important, duh. he's easily the lesser of the Miami "big 3" - dude is riding coat tails and gets to be on every billboard.

Not that I am a fan, but I was actually hoping Miami cruises their way to a second straight title. That way, Morey's sales pitch to Dwight and CP3 this summer becomes even stronger. "Look, you both now know the only way you are going to beat the Heat is for three all-stars to team up. Otherwise, Miami is going to win not one, not two, not three, . . ."

1.do not pick up any of the team options on anyone
    2.sign Dwight
    3. trade lin and asik for bosh
    4. start Beverley
    4. resign Garcia for 2.4 mil

    Beverley/brooks
    Harden
    parsons/garcia
    Bosh/Jones
    Howard/ G. Smith

we just need to pick up a backup shooter, pure shooter in the kyle korver, jj reddick kind of role

we dont need to include lin here...is better then just a throw in...miami would prob prefer beverly if they wanted a pg...we would prefer to keep lin...

We can offer 2 of our PFs (Dmo and Trob) for example and Asik for Bosh plus a 1st rounder. This should do the trick....without having to part with lin or bev.

I love the people including lin as a throw in

to make salaries work we can offer T rob, (and another PF), Asik and then include garcia or delfino...miami can either keep a good veteran wing for playoffs....or decline option and save the money.
