    those free p*rn sites make $$$. I believe there are only a few companies that own all of them. Manwin is the biggest one they just buy up all of the free p*rn sites. p*rn is like half the internet, there will always be demand for it. They make all the money on advertising. Those pay sites are mainly auxiliary and for content creation. There will be people who pay for the full library and easier access, but the bulk of the $$$ they make comes from selling ad space.
