I hope Lin continues to improve. He had a solid 1st season. Hopefully he continues to work on his game and be a better player next year. If he even becomes slightly better, he and Harden will be absolutely deadly. Add Parsons and (hopefully) a new PF, as well as Asik, then we are SET!

Maybe learn some dirty tricks from Fisher?

Anyways, I feel like his swagger is already bigger than a young Parker. I hope the coaches would give him more freedom to make mistakes next season. More chemistry with other players would only help, especially having the first training camp with Harden.

It's sometimes tough to know what Lin's full potential is. He has had really good games this year but then he's also had poor games. The Rockets as well as Lin has shown that they can beat (blow out) .500 or worse teams. It's the elite teams, where they sputter.

Lin needs to get more maniacal about his workouts, like Kobe Bryant.

I remember last summer he tweeted a picture of him taking it easy, bass fishing. I thought it seemed like a little too laid-back. Expectations were super-high for him. He had to know his shortcomings. Guys like Kobe and Kevin Love took their game to the next level when they were younger because they were passionate about being the best. I'm hoping Lin has that same will.

There are a lot of things that Lin could work on but the key is aggressiveness. But it's not clear whether Lin was innately passive due to a lack of confidence or forced to be passive by Harden or McHale. Given lin's irrational confidence period during Linsanity, I think his current passiveness is not innate but a function of deference to Harden.

With all the complaints about Harden's ISOs and Lin's passiveness, it seems like the most important fix is not Lin's 3pt shooting or dribbling but how to get Harden to let Lin lead as the true PG.

Awww, that is such a nice thing to say. Thank you.

I am a big fan of the bearded one too. :) I look forward to enjoying these two tearing up the league in the Rockets backcourt for years to come. And I look forward to your postings next season as well.

Still not convinced that Lin is a NBA starter, but I like him a lot. Seems like he needs to work on conditioning and address the fact that he is wildly inconsistent. He seems to run hot and cold and nothing in between. Important work ahead this summer. Personally, I would like to see him as the "star" of the second unit instead of Robin to Batman or Beardman to be exact.

Either you hate Asians, CHristians or both. Nothing Jeremy Lin said should evoke such hostility. The good thing is once you admit your hatred for Lin and Christians and you would love to see Jeremy Lin fed to the Lions there is hope. God has a place for you just get on your knees and ask for forgiveness.

I don't know how one picture bass fishing makes him complacent in his game. Lin knows his faults and he says he's motivated to get better. He really doesn't have any injuries to worry about, he doesn't have to worry about being on a team, and he has support from the coaching staff.

They are a young team and he's a young player who just played his first full season. I think he will be better.

Or at least more consistent either way.

Awww, I'm sorry that you think that Jeremy is "not good" and "weak" but, if you're serious here, this post makes me sad. I understand how hard it is to see a player that you love let go or traded away by the team you love. It's one of the tough things about following sports if you tend to get attached to players and/or coaches/managers, which I always do. It's made for some really tough times as a sports fan for me, but also some really enjoyable ones.

    Take care...

    BINGO!

we literally have NO front court player with a solid jumper after ppat got traded. if lin and harden finally get a solid pnr partner, the best backcourt in the nba conversation can start once again...

I read this article earlier and appreciate Lin's honesty. Lin is an easy guy to root for. I really hope he can improve as a player and not be a "flash in the pan" type player. In the mean time, however, the Rox need to continue to look to solidify the PG position for the future. So far, Lin has not shown enough to be considered a major piece to the Rox puzzle for the future. The only two players who look to be apart of Rox long term future at this point are Harden and Parsons. I will say the same for Asik if Rox don't get Howard.

Great thread. I am fully confident that Lin will bust his butt this summer. When people criticized his high TO rate, he worked hard on it and we saw a much lower TO rate this season. Wen his shot wasn't falling for the first half of this season, he worked hard on his shooting and we saw what he could do during the last few months. With a full off season to prepare and hopefully one more start player, I only see him and the Rockets getting better next season.

Last summer he was injured and couldn't work out even if he wanted to. This summer is the first real off season that he'll have since being a starter. Where he is in the fall will be a real indication of where he's headed.
