Yes; but much like the Cowboys, once the coach got bored and we traded away the roster, bringing back our old college buddies won't help, no matter how many G-8 titles they won back then.

never thought I'd ever say this ever in my life as a native Syrian, but GO ISRAEL.. At this point I don't care if Lucifer himself helps us topple Assad, I'd gladly support him.. Hopefully this brings about more international efforts to end this murderous regime very soon and rid my people of one of the worst tyrants the world has ever witnessed.

Hope if you have family still in Syria that they are all safe.

Things will get worse before it gets better. Just hope it doesn't snowball into something much much larger that just kicking Assad's ass. Praying for your people.

Looks like the second missile strike targeted a military research facility dealing in chemical weapons. If that's true, I'm even happier.

I don't think Israel particularly cares about the rebels given that there are extremists in their ranks, but it must feel good for those fighting Assad's regime to see superior firepower used against him. I hope he gets his comeuppance soon. 70,000 people killed because of his policies.

The amount of ignorance about Israel is astonishing. I'm actually on board a plane as we speak (wifi on board, how cool is that?) returning from Israel while the attacks occurred. I was literally 30 miles from Damascus 2 days from the attacks. I watched Apache helicopters fly overhead towards the boarder.

One thing that people forget is that Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, etc have publically stated that they are not interested in resolving their conflict with Israel. The only resolution will be the destruction of Israel.

That was literally written into Palestine's bylaws.

So for those of you that refer to Israel as a war-monger, keep in mind what their enemies objectives are. Keep that in context when judging Israel's responses.

This is the most often publicly stated reason and they reason why the US supported the creation of Israel but not the primary reason for blanket support. The US has at times opposed Israel, most notably during the Suez Crisis, but since then Israel has become much more of an issue of domestic politics than it has foreign policy.

My understanding is that the Israeli population isn't uniformly as hawkish than their current leadership.

Would be interested in hearing Deji's opinion about this situation.

Jordan has a peace treaty with Israel and the PLO (now PA) officially recognized Israel as part of the Oslo Accords.

Yes they do but don't be fooled into thinking that Israel has let their guard down. I was just in the dead sea and could see Jordan on the other side. The land is littered with barbed wire and other reminants from the wars with Jordan. It wasn't long ago and they are simply one leadership change away from not being friendly.

For example, even Turkey, which was previously friendly, now has a new leader who wants a more strict Islamic state. Their relationship has eroded the last couple years.

Israel is surrounded by people that want to destroy them.

Israel's enemies are Islamic countries that hate the west.

THAT is why America supports Israel. If Israel is gone then Islamic countries will turn their attention next to someone else. Who is next in line?

Jordan is a monarchy and short of another Arab Spring revolution, which is unlikely in Jordan, there won't be a leadership change anytime soon. The King of Jordan has shown almost no inclination to end the treaty with Israel. Even Egypt which now has a Muslim Brotherhood leadership isn't considering leaving the peace treaty with Israel. Sabre rattling aside none of those countries seem eager to take on Israel again.

Actually Turkey is patching relationship with Israel.

The US also supports several of those Islamic countries like the Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait and etc.
