Lin did nothing wrong this series, he was hurt, not in the flow of the game, naturally.

His injury did allow Beverley to emerge as his replacement.
This at least makes trading Lin, plausible

I just can't Justify paying Lin 24 million when Beverley proved himself to be more than capable.

I knew fans would blame this loss on Lin. Clutch fans are ridiculous.
    Lin - 13 min, 1-4 fg, 0 assist, 1to.
    Beverley - 33 min, 4-11 fg, 0 assist, 1to.
    Harden - 43 min, 7-22 fg, 7 assists, 4to.
    Parsons 46 min, 8-14 fg, 3 assists, 5to.

Not to interrupt the debate on whether Lin or Harden is the worst player in the history of mankind, but:

the Rockets had a great year- with a bunch of kids basically.
It was a great season and I'm definitely excited for next season.

Also, the Thunder are done which is very good because Miami would've destroyed them again.

That's probably always the plan for Lin (along with Asik) in terms of their contract. What I hope is for Lin to have a more consistent minute/rotation...this year was just odd with his playing time. You can only grow as a core group if everyone stays healthy and remain together on the floor as much as possible.

Yeah, and the strep throat caused him to play iso hero-balls and the turnovers . Poor Harden , he must had suffered from strep throat for quite a long time now !! God, i hate strep throat .Well done Rockets , thanks and proud of you guys !!!

Harden, you are a ****ing stubborn, selfish, low basketball IQ but talented player. You better change your attitude or you and Rockets will go no where but the first round!

In his limited minutes, Lin actually played decent defense on Jackson, deflected a potential OKC dunk, and forced Durant to shoot an airball. Even with the obvious rust, I am happy with his effort tonight. But without Delfino, Anderson had to play, and I didn’t think that lineup worked very well.

I thought Fisher actually did what Beverley did so well to OKC in prior games…he was a big pest for Houston. All those missed foul shots really hurt. Also, live by the 3 die by the 3…almost half of the team’s made baskets were 3s. But with half the 4th quarter to play, those consecutive TOs by Harden when Houston was down by 8 really damaged Houston’s chances. After the 2nd TO, it became a 15pt game.

I think without Westbrook, this series showed that OKC has some big weaknesses in their lineup. And with Lin’s injury, Beverley and Brooks got a chance to play. But to me it’s misleading to think that Houston is any better with them as the main PGs. They did well in this series because OKC’s lineup was in disarray due to Westbrook’s injury. Houston had a chance because the shots were falling, not because they were good in their PG roles. Playmaking was lacking… in this game Beverley had 0 assists, and Brooks had 1. To me these two are perfect to come off the bench as big energy boosts and disruptions to opponents’ game plans. But the true starting PG going forward is still Lin. His first game in this series was pitiful, and I’m sure was a big eye-opener for him. But he started adapting in the 1st half of game 2, before he got hurt. He has the steadiness and playmaking abilities a starting PG has. BUT, he will need to seriously work on a few things during the summer.

It was a successful year for a team nobody thought would make the playoffs. Looking forward to how things move forward for next year.

Proud of them except for Harden, clearly. You don't single out and hate on someone you're proud of.

I'm talking about totality of the series, not just one game.

Beverley has proven that he is at least as capable as Lin at running the point guard position.

Beverley is still on his rookie contract, Lin is getting paid too much for what he brings to this team.

Beverley is at least as capable, at a cheaper price.

I am a bit bummed about Harden's performance. This just shows to me that we need another star of equal or greater to Harden.

    1 is not enough.

I Love Parson's and Asik, though. They grew so much this series, i'm proud of them.

No it was a bad game for him. Running around and getting fouls can only do so much...I like that he's very active and doesn't turn the ball over much but he's no Lin in terms of orchestrating the offense...But the loss tonight isn't really on any of the PGs...those 9 TOs by Harden and Parsons did major damage tonight.....

Congratulations to the Rockets ! Before the season started, I was wondering if the NBA LP was do me a favor blacking out a couple of games as I feared it would be a long year. Should be exciting off season.

I think except for Garcia we took it in the chops on the trade. TRob unfortunately can't smell being a #5 let alone a first rounder. IMO he was not worth a 2 Pat straight up. All that "steal" talk was just that ...TALK.

Let Smith,White and Anderson move along. DMO is a project...unless he can become proficient in the paint with a post up game we need another 3 point shooter (not good at that) like a hole in the head. Remember the preseason macho talk there...again just talk.

I'll take Parsons, Harden, Garcia, Bev, Brooks, Asik (need an offensive threat big man though), Delfino and Terrence Jones. I admire Lin for the guts of trying to play hurt but he and everyone else are expendable.I'd trade a couple of the remaining guys CHEAP...a bag of potato chips cheap because they break like a potato chip.

I want better than winning one series in the last 15 years...Houston deserves better. I'd like to see us play for it all again as I did in 1994.

man seemed like Bev was playing unconcious till the last second lol. The homeboy tried to steal the ball at the last 3 second of a double digit game lol. I was so sad but that gave me a smile. The never say die spirit.

Next year will be a season to watch

Man, I thought Beverly is better than Reggie Jackson. Jackson proved me wrong! Damn OKC is deep despite losing Westbrook!

Brooks should have played in the 2nd half we needed his ability to get his own shot.

Chemistry was blown losing Delfino and JLin being shoe-horned back in.

    Dang.
