Yall need to cheer for whoever is on the floor tonight, Lin or Bev or Brooke or whoever, you heard me! This game is too important and yall need to be united!
You sure Lin wouldn't mess up world peace too? You know, he's been out for a week, and there is no major world disaster. Him coming back now, hmmmm, kind of scary thought... Disclaimer: AB coming back with pain on thigh from last game, Delfino coming back after banged up, or regular season Harden coming back from hurting angle, those are all team chemistry builders. Lin, on the other hand, woooo, what a tough case, a team only fan like me, would never want him back to "disrupt chemistry".
The only good thing was Harden made the SAME exact plays and made the shots. The difference was he made the shots, not because of Lin. The same situation will be in tonight's game as well. Can Harden make his ISO 3s? - biggest determination if we win or lose.
Of course there are Lin 'haters'. There probably aren't many people who signed up only to hate on Lin, true. But just as there are a bunch of people who hype him up every time he plays well, there are a bunch of people who tear him apart every time he doesn't play well. At this point, there's no point blaming anyone any more. The narrative behind Lin has gotten completely polarized and out of control. All I can hope for as a Lin fan is that he plays well, but whether he does or doesn't the forums are going to implode. There's no helping it at this rate. It just comes with the territory.
Right. You have to understand the psychology and method of these types of rhetorical and debating games. How people go about doing this stuff, all that. I understand those techniques fairly well and can point them out to other people pretty easily. Once you understand what the "con" is, so to speak, it has much less of an effect on you. Haters want to put Lin and his fans on an emotional "defensive" mode. To counter that type of effect, you just hit them with some facts and substitute reason for their emotion. Then the whole house of cards falls apart. I just want to win tonight. But wanting to win tonight and exposing some hater smoke-and-mirror tactics aren't mutually exclusive. So, this is some pre-game fun.
All he was indicating was that Lin can hold up on his own. Can PB and AB do the same if harden was out? PB was a factor in game 4 but in game 5 the PG was irrelevant. Asik, Harden and Garcia was smoking it up. The numbers don't lie 1 assist and RJ with 20+ pts....given they were double teaming...but if it was Lin you guys be ripping him apart already.
Brooks scored 10 points on 11 shots, 0-3 from deep. Not exactly "killing" OKC. If Lin shot 4-11 (0-3), people here would say that he was hurting the team. The double-standard is so mind boggling. For the record, I actually thought Brooks played very well, considering how little he'd been playing. I was happy that he contributed to the win.
He will be fine as long as he brings defense and energy. I'm looking forward to seeing how he plays. He needs to focus on not turning the ball over while being aggressive, pressuring the defense by trying to get steals when they bring it up the court, and knocking down the three. In a limited sample size I would not use statistics in an argument. Brooks has been playing well and his speed, quickness, and energy changes the dynamic of the game. He runs the offense without turning the ball over. He is also more consistent from the 3 point line and attacking the basket without turning the ball over.
Yeah. I agree with a good amount of what iJHolmes said. But just to further an analogy I made the other day, just because you have a Hypothetical Old White Republican Guy (HOWRG) who was a Republican before Obama became president, that doesn't mean that Obama being president doesn't set off that guy to a new level. So, the HOWRG didn't join the GOP because of Obama, necessarily, but he may be 10 times as mad during the Obama Administration than he was in the Clinton Administration. And so you may see and hear more from the HOWRG during the Obama Administration than you did during the Clinton Administration, even if the two administrations have similar policies.
hard to imagine brooks scoring 29 (including 8 in the final 2min to ice the game) against okc (and doing it against westbrook). actually, hard to imagine brooks ever scoring 29 in the nba again now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gt5Y81T5lmQ
That's regular season, doesn't count. Besides, more importantly, AB looked so confident, while JLin looked scared
what is stupid is the assumption that he, the starting pg for 82 straight games, will come in and screw up the chemistry as if he was just picked up from the waiver a week before playoffs. we're still playing the same system with the same players we've had since the trade deadline. were you concerned when harden came back after being out for 2 games a few weeks ago? the team was winning without him then. were yo concerned then about team chemistry? this argument just doesn't make any logical sense. worried about his performance, being rustry, too amped up... all valid concerns. your starting pg for 82 games ruining your chemistry? not a valid concern.
This is just not true, Beverly is a much better defender than Lin, and has been playing catch and shoot from the 3pt line a little better as well, at least in my perception. And AB has been torching their 2nd unit. I just like the chemistry, I hope Lin is healthy and able to knock down the 3s, and play well.....I just worry that adding him back will disrupt chemistry..... Either way, I will be cheering like mad for whomever is on the floor. DD
Well done. Haters are trying to toy with your emotions. But it only works if you let it work. But if you point out the idiocy of the "arguments," Haters lose.
