I think he meant that the "old coach" had a style of working his players to death in practice. That's why Yao (quoted by Rudy, who said Yao wasn't joking) is lamenting that it's gonna be a very tiring summer. Bad news for the Rockets.
any idea how many hrs of training this old chinese national team coach would demand of his players daily ? OH NO , how can Yao bulk up now. ABC championships this year then Olympics next year. Gosh , when is he ever going to have a "light" summer.

Have you been given any indication whether you are going to have any availability with him this summer? A: I know that today he said...they hired the old Olympic coach. Q: What does that mean? A: He said man, I'm gonna be tired this summer..(oh really?)..that's what he told me this morning. That was an older guy than the one they had this last time. Q: So this guy's a real task master? A: I guess so. Q: He has a sense of humor...maybe he was just messing with you. A: No...no he wasn't. He was just being honest.
