Around the 15:30 mark, Kenny hits a 3 and Marv says it's his seventh, and that he has 18pts. I'm pretty good at math, and something is amiss. Did he say "second"? Pretty sure it was "seventh".
I just got chills. I can't wait for the day this team wins a championship again. Lets hope Morey and this team can pull it off soon.
If you keep watching he corrects himself later. He hit five threes in the quarter set a record and hit seven in the game to make another record.
the glory days! I can remember what I ate that night before the game, the place I was at, and the final speech by Rudy T capped it off for me. I was such a die hard. The "non-believers" speech should teach everyone a lesson in life. What a great two years. The days of pay per view until the finals too remember those days?
My opinion? You should watch more basketball. Hakeem played the best stretch of basketball against dominant competition ever.
Every rockets fan should have clutch city in their heart. they named this place after clutch city 3am eternal
Haha! I remember PPV playoffs. We would go to a local Mexican establishment to watch it without paying.
Yea I watched it live. I only meant to say Shaq was already more the dominant force in this series than perceived here. I mean Hakeem played great, they just have different games. 32.8 on .482 is a norm for dream, and 28.0 on .595 likewise for Shaq. But 32.8pt on 29.0 shots, vs 28.0pt on 18.5 shots. Shaq did not get outplayed except in final minutes (which is again a norm in his career, why he needed Kobe & wade). Especially in game one, commentators were trying hard to not knock on hakeem's performance. They tend to think Shaq was outplaying hakeem, esp the rebounds. Luckily, Hakeem performed down the stretch. Hakeem had to adjust to Shaq by getting around him. Hakeem's moves caused a few fouls, but not as many trips to the line. But did you notice Shaq was doubled every single time? His inside bulldozer game was definitely more worrisome to opponents than Hakeem's style. Outside shots go in only half the time. Like I said, with Hakeem's experience and late game performance, they nulled each other. The difference of winning games was in role players outplaying theirs. Again, I love Hakeem as much as anyone, but this series is not like vs Robinson. Shaq outplayed Hakeem throughout the game but Hakeem did so late game. So that's how to win it all!
Really? Because Yao basically mimicked Hakeem's offensive moves.... Yao's offensive game was as polished as Hakeem's, just not as electric because Hakeem was a ++athlete, and Yao was a 7'6" monster, but the moves.....Yao had every one of them. Defense is a totally nother question, in fact, it's not even the same sport.
Wow, a video/thread about a rockets great without the condescending tone of Tinman... this just made my day.
I love how Bill Walton was praising the Magic and ragging on the Rockets and then when Kenny hit the 3 and Hakeem had the tip in Walton was SILENT. Never could stand his terrible commentating. He was in LOVE with Shaq.
Lol...despite my comment I am still honored by your response. as for newb status...Ive been trolling since 2002 which doesn't make that much of a difference.
