According to news reports in India Chinese troops have set up checkpoints 19 KM inside Indian borders with a banner that reads “You are in Chinese Territory”.

China has reinforced its position in Daulat Bag Oldi (DBO) sector, 19km deep inside Indian territory, where they are getting regular supplies through trucks. According to reports sent to the Union home ministry, the Chinese side had adopted agressive posture during patrolling in the DBO sector, where they have picted five tents, and were refusing to end the face-off which has entered the third week. Nearly 40 PLA personnel are stationed in five tents in the area which is 70km south of Burtse of DBO sector and a banner reads “You are in Chinese territory”.

If they did, India has no way of winning. Although, this is very un-chinese like. They tend to lean towards soft power.

Why is it very un-Chinese like? I can think of Tibet, Senkaku Islands, and it looks like DBO in India where China is stalking territorial claims.

    One-sided media poke.

This minor problem will be resolved soon.

Hope all "invasions and aggressive pose" are done by setting up tents and banners in the future.

    1) India -- don't trust the Chinese. This is likely a calculated move to demonstrate their power and get something later

    2) India -- why do you appear so p***y whipped when it comes to defending yourself?

India should open up a can of whoop ass, flank the unprotected boarder, cut off China's truck supplies, and give the world a message of not to **** with them.

And these are people with Nuclear capabilities? Got to show more backbone than that India!

Battle of the retail hagglers! In all serious though, why would China invade India?

This invasion is right out of the Kim Jong Un playbook.

What a bunch of p*****s. Maybe if they imagine the Chinese as young women on a bus they might muster the balls to man up.

This area has been disputed by the PRC and India for decades but I have no idea why things would heat up now.

If this had been Pakistan setting up in India territory the nukes might be flying already.

I didn't realize that China had previously claimed the area, my bad.

What I meant was, the chinese seem set on seizing territories that were historically theirs and influencing the world through economic policy, rather then invading everybody like a european colonial power. I interpreted the OP's post (or at least the title) as a bit sensationalist.

As judo asked, why would China do this now? Some local commander with his juices flowing? More likely a decision from far higher up. Are they nuts? What possible good does it do China to antagonize India?

Sorry about that. Wasn't my intent, was just asking the same question the article asked.

And it's really not over hyped, any time two world powers have potential to collide in battle, that is never being sensationalist . Has world wide implications.
