The Rockets will be an entertaining team from now on. They've proven they can compete in the playoffs, and hopefully they can snatch a game or two from the Thunder again or win the series. When they do lose though, the quest to change this team from a playoff team to a contender will begin with trying to sign Dwight Howard. I will be rooting for D12ToHouston all summer, and if successful this team will be DANGEROUS for the next 5+ years!!! RED NATION
Sign Dwight & resign Hakeem. Watching Charles Jones play in the 95 finals thread makes me think we could use Hakeem as the old guy playing spot minutes.
oops wrong window sorry....if d howard wants to come to the rockets, rockets gotta go for it, howard was not 100% this year and plus he still can get better if he learns some post moves
The Rockets aren't going to get Howard because he basically is a slight upgrade of Asik for 2.5 times the price. I think they're more likely to look for a player like Bosh, who can score inside and rebound, but can consistently score from 15-18 feet as well. This would allow them more flexibility to run the offense they currently run and not always close down the middle. Anyway, that's what I'm thinking right now. Starting lineup 2013-2014 Rockets: Asik Bosh Parsons Harden Beverly Backups: Greg Smith Terrance Jones Delfino Lin/Garcia (Maybe cap room to keep one, but not surprised if we keep neither) Brooks
I've been against Howard from the beginning. However, slowly....I've started to change my stand on the issue. The thought of a line up consisting of... PG - Lin/Bev SG - Harden SF - Parsons PF - Howard C - Asik Bench PF/C - Smith PF - Jones PG - Bev/Lin PG - Brooks SF - Delfino PF - Dmo Bench may be a bit long, but some will obviously not be there. SG - Garcia (Correct me if I'm wrong, is there anyway he can refuse his team option, but take less money than his option would have been? Something tells me he'd love to be a part of this team.) Oh well, I have faith in our FO. I'd love to see what happens. That team would be something to watch. Would be nice to not have to lean on Asik every play. Greg Smith would be a great off the bench energy guy, same with Garcia and Delfino.
What hate? I think Dwight is the right decision and then Asik becomes slightly expendable so you should use him to upgrade the PF or PG position, if you upgrade PG, you don't need Lin and he has some trade value.

I was thinking we needed to trade Asik for a PF if Dwight came but I don't wanna give Asik up. Can we just run small ball line-ups with Asik and Dwight alternating at center?
Unless Lin can start hitting his wide open threes on a consistent basis, then we have no need for his services here.
LOL. What kind of logic is this? We wouldn't have been 8th seed, either. Harden makes Howard better and Howard makes Harden better... as hard as that is to believe.
