This has got to be the only time in history I've ever respected Broussard. He is going to be crucified by the media for his honesty but the guy didn't encourage any hate towards Jason Collins, he called it what the bible says it is, a sin, as much as any other sex outside of marriage between husband and wife. That includes not only homosexuality but also pedophilia, bestiality, premarital, adulterous, self-pleasing and any other type of outside-of-marriage sex you can come up with.

He is not telling Jason Collins he hates him, only that if he is a Christian then he cannot approve of what God disapproves. Doesn't mean he doesn't like him or respects him.

If you are not a Christian you can disagree with the bible all you want and call it fiction and mock it whichever way you want. But Broussard is just speaking the truth as the bible says it is.

#1 It has become clear that you are a waste if time, so this will be the last time I both with your arrogant and inaccurate ass.
#2 You cannot prove Christianity any more than Islam or Judaism. It is a matter of faith, and there in lies the beauty of it. I am a Christian, I was raised by Jesuits that have an understanding of the scholarly history of religions and Christianity that would blow yours away. Having said that your argument of "proof" is garbage, there is every bit as much historical evidence that Christianity has roots and borrowed liberally from Paganism. It doesn't matter to me, because I know it comes down to faith.
#3 You used a particular translation of scripture to argue that homosexuality is a sin. That is one of multiple different translations and is further more few of many verses. Yet seems to be a driving central tenet of Christianity... How convenient. Further, please show me where Jesus said Homosexuality was a sin?
#4 you don't even know the historical meaning of important words translated such as pais but choose to condemn an entire group of people as if you are an authority of Gods word.
#5 You forgot Judicial laws, further concerning moral laws, I suggest you read Matthew 5:18 and Galatians 6:2, we are bound under the rule and law of Jesus, which is to love him and others (Matthew 22:36-40)... Which is something you are failing at brother ... And in the word of Chris Broussard, based on the Bible, you are not a Christian.

More accurately, Christianity is a faith. Catholicism, Baptist, Orthadox and Methodist are religions.

    That's semantics though. Tom-A-to, tom-a-to.

I by no means speak for the Muslims as a whole nor do I represent any multiple of people, only my own opinion. I believe if you are a believer of God, and you believe in the word of God (Torah, Bible, or Quran) than being a homosexual (man or woman) is a sin. So is premarital sex, drinking, gambling, lying, cheating, interest, adultery, selfishness, etc.

Honestly Collins is no more of a "sinner" than all the athletes who have sex with groupies, cheat on their wives, gamble away their earnings, do drugs, etc. Honestly I feel like the whole fact that him being gay is a big issue is because it's not socially acceptable yet. What if Babe Ruth far less famous teammate were caught drinking during prohibition times? What would society think of him then?

Also, with the social media the way it is, everything is magnified by like 1,000,000. I guarantee if Chris Jent came out back in 1994, nobody would have cared outside of the Houston Rockets fans and people close to Jent. I'm not a perfect person, I have sinned, so I am not going to go around preaching anything to anyone. I don't agree with Collins' lifestyle, but like Kenny Smith said last night, respecting someone doesnt mean you have to like them (respecting what they do over liking or agreeing with what they do).

I am surprised I am even typing all this, seeing as I avoid D&D 98% of the time. But yet here I am click clacking away from a simple sarcastic "question" of what Muslims think about the matter.

    Just my $.02

I think he at least tried to articulate his point and if you've read his past article on the subject, he's somewhat reasonable for a religious nut.

So, yea. Don't really hate the guy.

O...k... Might want to get that checked out.

Why should ridiculous beliefs be respected? What if I believe in Intelligent Falling? Or better yet, Intelligent Design? How about the new gods of Westeros? When they intrude upon the lives of others, idiotic beliefs should not be tolerated.

religion doesn't necessarily have to infringe on other people's lives. i do agree that if that's the case then it shouldn't be tolerated, but there's no reason to belittle someone else's personal beliefs if they aren't effecting others.

the notion that other's beliefs are ridiculous is just your opinion. who do you think you are to belittle other's beliefs if they aren't infringing on your life? that's just like christians thinking homosexuality is ridiculous. there's hypocrites on both sides of this argument.

last time i checked america was built on religious freedom. there's no reason to bash another's beliefs when they have no impact on you other than to be an *******.

In case you haven't noticed, religion has been infringing on people's freedom in this country for a while now.

And what makes you think that it is a choice. Put faith and religion aside for a moment. As beings on this planet as with any animal the purpose is procreation. There is no animal on earth that mates with the same sex. We evolved and have grown through mating, to the best of my knowledge you can't do that with the same sex. It is your opinion that it is not a choice, and that is all you can prove. There is no science proving that people are born that way.

And these arguments or trying to relate this subject to things that are facts are baseless. Of course we know the Earth is round it's been proved through science, that can't be said of being gay is a choice or not.

Btw, I don't agree with being gay or believe that it's right. That does not and I emphasize not mean I demean gays or don't think they have the right to choose who they want to be with. I just don't want it flaunted or thrown in my face, or because I don't agree with it I'm a bad person. You have your beliefs and I have mine and if you say I have to accept your beliefs well guess what you have to accept mine.

You are as much of a bad person as someone who doesn't like black people.

    Depends on the religion.

I do not think other's beliefs are ridiculous. But it is my opinion that nonsensical, contradictory, demonstrably false and myth based-beliefs are ridiculous.

Should I not care when they impact people other than me? And besides, they almost invariably do have an impact on me in the end.

It appears that all this talk about God and Jesus being about love is harder to believe by example rather than by faith.

"We must respect the other fellow's religion, but only in the sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart." - H. L. Mencken

That about sums it up for me.

This logic is horrible. It could be used to say that because you think interracial marriage is wrong doesn't mean that you think there's anything wrong with being black or that you want to take away the rights of black people. You just don't want interracial relationships thrown in your face.

If that were the case should have to accept your beliefs on interracial marriage?
