what happen to Jay William now? havn't heard any news from him, isn't he suppose to be the most NBA ready player in this yr's draft? and there were millions people say he will be good and Yao will not be ready for NBA for at least 2, 3 yrs. it end up the most ready one isn't ready yet and the most raw one is the most NBA ready. just wondering will Lebon be as good as people saying he is in his rookie yr?

With the emergence of Jamal Crawford playing as well as he has, and the emergence of Amare Stoudemire, the Bulls are probably rethinking the pick. Jay Williams is struggling because he doesn't understand the Triangle Offense. I think in another system Williams would flourish.

Yao has amazed everyone, no one, and I repeat NO ONE knew he would come in his first year and do as well as he did. The best part is that he is only going to get better.

As for the "Hype Machine" LeBron James, if he doesn't come in and score 30 PPG, grab @ least 7 boards, and dish out 5 assists, and look Jordanesque while doing it, he'll be labeled a bust. The guy has game, no doubt about it, but all this talk of "he'll be a top ten player his first year" talk, I think is ridiculous. What really needs to happen is that the team that drafts him needs to bring him along slowly (which will never happen). I hope he does well, but I don't see him setting the league on fire.

Actually, I remember Rick Berry saying that Yao was going to kick ass right away.

I remember listening to the radio talk show where the the host was asking Rick Barry if he agreed with the host that Yao Ming was gonna be the biggest bust [this was like 2 days before the draft]. And Rick Barry was so insulted that he said Yao Ming might be the greatest big man ever.

Yeah I disappointed in Jay William's season so far. He was suppose to be no. 1 in 2000 and no. 1 in 2001 but becuase of Ming he was no. 2 in 2002 and only probably because we had Francis and we might of been the only team to take Ming over Jay.

Never the less he was considered to make an impact as high as any no. 1 pick has been and a true franchise PG. I waited years to see him play in the NBA. I guess hype is not always a good way to judge a player. But still the guy had 3 years of college ball at one of the best programs there is in Duke.

It's hard to judge the future of a player by less than 1 year experience... just like Yao & other Rookies, Jay Williams need time to adjust & finding his roles on the Bulls team.

I thought JW was the most skilled player in the draft, but he surprised everyone for his lack of fundamentals. I mean, you can't blame the triangle offense for 62%FT, 38%FG and 29%3P.

Well, I still believe in Williams.

Like many young players, he's most comfortable when he's creating shots off the dribble, i.e. dominating the ball. And the triangle is the absolute wrong fit for that kind of player.

    He'll adapt.

Not in Dick Vitale's book. According to Dick, Jay is the man - a guarrantteed instant hit in the NBA. Rookie of the year front runner. Team leader! Easily ONE OF THE BEST point guards in all of basketball in AMERICA.

    Way to go Dick Vitale.

Since we know that Lebron will be chosen by a bad team like Denver or Cleveland, it is fair to assume that he will struggle early. The bar has been set waaaay toooo high for Lebron, and anything short of what Amare and Yao are doing now will come as a disappointment.

Somehow I believe 'Mello Anthony will do better (at least next season) than 'Bron - Mello's 1 year with Syracuse will be beneficial for him next season in the NBA. He has a jump shot, a better rebounder and defender (including shot blocking).

That Darko Kid has lots of potential and a perfect scenario (IMO) for him will be drafted by New York. He will flourish there playing along side Antonio McDyse and Houston.

Just like every other year, there is always a sleeper. Though I have not seen or heard much of him, this Beaumont area high school kid could be the one this year. I hear he is like Amare in size and agression. But he might change his mind and choose to go to college instead.

Likewise. Good things happen to good people. This is a good kid who works hard and has the desire. He's had flashes that shows he'll be a stud.

A team of former NBA players played team China a couple of years ago, Yao was dominating during those games.

Rick Barry was the coach for that team.

Give Williams some time. He'll turn out to be a solid pg if not a star pg. The Bulls is just not the right team for him. Their offensive scheme doesn't play to his strengths and they have Rose dominating the ball and way too many young players.

As for Lebron.. there's way too much hype about him. Expectations are way too high. Give him a couple of seasons and he'll be well on his way to superstardom. Well, he has too much potential and is too athletic to be anything less than a star.

Yao is doing just fine. He's not what the most optimistic hoped, although kinda close, but definitely isn't a bust.

LeBron could probably get Amare/Yao type numbers. 13ppg shouldn't be too tough get on a bad team.

I don't think anyone is expecting 30,7,5 first year. Even the most ignorant fans I've talked to(don't know who Hakeem is) is expecting 10,3,3.

The guy from Beaumont isn't really a sleeper. Kendrick Perkins has been hyped for a while as "Baby Shaq" but people are starting to realize that he is not a good athlete. Expect a more raq version of Brendan Haywood, but hey, you never know.
